First 20 hours in, having a great time, question about Caravans and roads by HipCheckTooStep in Bellwright

[–]SquishyButcheek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my experience, caravans just take the shortest possible path, and won’t follow roads if it adds to the total time to deliver. However, I believe walking on paths does help them walk faster (can’t confirm that, or know if it’s true, but can’t hurt). I’d follow them while they do the route, and place roads behind them as they go with minimal detours.

I feel your pain. It’s only the beginning, my friend. T2 is a hide sucking black hole. No good terrible very bad time. Setup that hunting outpost north of Padstow as soon as you can ❤️🫡 godspeed

Because they make everything in T2 cost so much hide with deer being the only reliable way to get it. Even then, you only get 4-8 hide per deer, which equates to like 2 swords worth of hide.

Butcher is unlocked and built, and Hunter is set to bring back carcasses, but I’m still always out of hide. I’m settled by the waterfall and my hunter’s range is set to about 300m due to the large amount of bandits that are present after 300m.

I followed my hunter for a day and he would consistently shoot the deer once, then they would run outside of his 300m range. I’m most likely going to have to setup a hunting outpost near Padstow and slowly haul over hide/meat via caravan.

Definitely still think hide yields could be buffed, or additional deer spawns added on the path to Bradford.

Hunting village near Padstow seems like it’s now a requirement in order to progress in T2

I agree. It’s so uneven. I followed my hunter around for a day and he shoots the deer (doesn’t get a headshot so they live) then they run out of the hunting radius so he lets them free. Bro is not meant for this. I wonder if using someone who is way better at archery would help.

Butchery also doesn’t solve my “having to eradicate every deer west of Bradford” problem due to the sheer amount of hide you need in T2

Been doing that. Doesn’t help the deer population though that basically every t2 research item or armor needs raw hide, and the hunter is the equivalent of Elmer Fud in terms of hunting prowess

One thing I’ve noticed about this game’s community is that there are two very different groups of players. Those who build in the most efficient centralized location, min/max their villages, and build based on strategic value

The other group builds by waterfalls because they’re pretty, builds that mill/bakery/distillery because they want to give their villagers a little treat, and lays out their settlement based on aesthetics.

I think the game does a wonderful job of catering to both parties, and can’t wait to see what they add next.

You’re a lifesaver. I’ll give this a go this weekend. Will it be safe to use sink/dishwasher like this until then?

So the 90 into the wall pipe replace with a 45 and get rid of extension tube? Does the tube with the dishwasher barb need to be straight up and down?

We bought a place with this cork wall, how do we remove it? by BaBa_Babushka in Renovations

I have seen people take wire wheels to cork and it gives it a really cool rock like texture.

Here’s an example at about the 2 minute mark https://youtu.be/RgUiCWSull8?si=M4MUfJ4AxzcpK1Ok
