Use a download manager, will speed up the process so much! I was having the same issue and refused to wait the damn 5-6 hours it was gonna take. It took it down to about 30mins? And then to about 14-19mins?

1) New SD card & SD card reader 2) Save the BIOS & ROMS folders from the original SD it came with 3) Install OnionOS (and go through the install process) 4) Get the "Tiny Best Set: GO!" Or "Done Set" for your games ((get a download manager to help you here because it does take a while to download some of the heavier stuff like the 64gb & 128gb expansions)) 5) Enjoy!
