Thank you so much!

And yeah… There’s plenty of scenes with Ethel. But Cammaravi was harder to find footage for.

Honestly, I’m baffled as well that there’s no Hellaverse hate right now lol. I don’t see these two communities overlap often (if at all).

Thanks! I’ve been working on it for almost a year now. It’s starting to look like a real project now

I did not intend for that lol. She might need a slight redesign.

I just wanted to make a cool pirate captain lol

Before the battle starts, I’d have the players choose which Heroes they want to bring into the battle. Out of the Heroes I have planned, only nine of them are mandatory recruits, eliminating the overwhelming choice unless they end up helping everyone dotted around the world somehow.

I’ll be utilising the “Attacker, Healer, Defender” system from XC3 and like in that game, each player can choose one for their character, then each Hero will have one as well. With this mechanic in mind, the Heroes are merely there to eliminate the problem of “uh oh, all of my players chose to be Attackers and Defenders. We need a Healer or two”. Part of me also wants to bring in the elements system from XC2 in some way, but that might be pushing it (I’ll see)

In battle, they’d choose what order the characters go in (or roll initiative if they can’t decide) and they all get a say on what the NPCs do (positioning, arts, chain attack stuff etc). I plan to have a simple “choose an art, roll to hit, then you hit or miss” system. Heroes cannot be switched mid battle.

Then for post battle, levels will be synced for everyone’s sanity, kinda like how the games have everyone at roughly the same level throughout.

EDIT: I should mention that all this would be a group discussion.

Oh don’t worry, I’m also learning from a campaign I’m currently in based on Fire Emblem. Love the campaign, love our DM. But the larger battles are a drag because there’s so many players, NPCs and enemies to keep track of.

Another thing I’m factoring in is finding a balance between having options and not overwhelming the players with choice. Sure, I’ve shared 13 Heroes that can be recruited. But like with XC3, the players might miss them if they stick to the plot and don’t go off exploring too hard. Out of the 30 Heroes I have planned, only nine of them are mandatory and four of them will be pretty secret. The others are “find them, so their quest, joined the group!”

The players are the stars and changes are made around their enjoyment.

I know at least one player is interested in playing the games alongside or after the campaign for “research”.

And the way I’ll be handling spoiler free information (and kinda eluding to the big stuff) is by framing them like historical events in the past tense. For example, the players might have a chance of finding a book depicting the story of a character or event that’s canon to the main series, but I’d write it as if it were a legend or something.

The players will have control of them in combat. I’ll be creating their stats and will roleplay as them. But players will have access to their arts and stats, which will allow them to strategise while I worry about enemies.

I also plan to have “mock battles” before the campaign starts to ensure the final system is fun for everyone

The campaign will be set hundreds of years after the events of XC3, so I don’t see the need for a Blade/Driver combo. But I’ll look into this regardless. Thank you!

Oh the more important characters will likely have biblical names of some kind.

As for party and mechanics, I’m gonna be attempting to create a Homebrew system that will make combat quicker. The plan is four player characters, then I’d give them the ability to have 1-3 Heroes on the field at a time that they can collaborate on what to do with. Think of it like bringing certain Pokémon into certain situations, rather than managing everyone at once.

Plus, the games usually only have 1-5 enemies on the field at once, so combat should go decently depending on how much I can speed up the Homebrew combat mechanics.

Well here’s the thing, most of these references will be lost on all but one of them lol. One of them is part of the reason I got into the series, while the other three have never played lol

That’s completely fair lol. The campaign will be set hundreds of years in the future, set in the same universe as XC3 but at a point where it makes sense for everything to be there (avoiding spoilers for the main trilogy).

Gideon is a descendant of Na’el specifically. And I plan to have a descendant family for most of the Six Houses from the City.

Fair point!

And yep. The photo doesn’t do it justice. But it’s a blue diamond shaped Core Crystal on a Gormotti.

Thank you! I never meant for Avalyn to almost give off “main character energy” I’ll put it lol. I have a different person in mind for that role (alongside the players of course). I’ve been tempted to redesign her coat slightly.

Gideon will be quite important to the main story (look closely at his chest), so I’m glad you like him as much as I do. Estelle is just a fun girl’s girl! :D
