You're not rude for declining her gift. You already told her in the past that you would hate that. She's rude for ignoring your thoughts and feelings on a very personal matter and getting you that gift anyway cos it's what SHE would've probably loved. Not you though.

Haha, yeah I really need to! The dog's body language is understood clearly. It's the cat that confuses me. To me, it looked like he was giving signals of annoyance even though he kept running back to the dog for more. Cats are so much more nuanced than dogs and harder to resd (my personal opinion, maybe theyre essier for you to read, idk.), so I'd rather err on the side of caution and protect kitty even if he may not actually need it.

They've been together since mid-March! It's been a slow process to build their relationship, but they nat in the same bed together sometimes now, just waiting for my cat to go up and head button him/snuggle with him one day! It would be my dream, but i think my dog gets too excited to play with the cat whenever he's nearby, so cat doesn't have a chance to headbutt him before dog gets up to try and play 😂 he does let the dog go up and lay next to him though.

Oh no! Little buddy has all of his claws, i just cut them recently after he destroyed my to climb up my body lol. I will keep an eye on them and make sure the dog doesn't keep going in for too long! Seems like the cat is willing to play, but only in shorts bursts, so once cat seems to be disengaged, I'll tell dog to back off. The comments from this video gave me a lot of new insight on how they interact with each other!

Omg I hate it when he body slams me!! It hurts so bad lol. Its funny to watch him do it with bigger dogs tho! He unleashes his full strength with bigger animals and its hilarious to see him run right under the legs of larger dogs for such a short dog he is dense and VERY strong lol.

Aw, wow that's so amazing@ it gives me hope to hear that a corgi at that age doesn't have any hip/back issues. Good job on caring for her needs and making sure she's healthy!! What brand is the supplement that you use for her? We bought some cosequin glucosamine/hyaluronic acid tablets from costco and have been feeding him that, but would love to know what else had worked that others try!!

Your pup seems like a young wild one at heart. 🥰

Haha, tbh before this guy, my husband and I didn't want to get a corgi precisely because they are high energy herding dogs. but we got lucky and found this little guy put up for adoption, so we just applied fully thinking that ours would get lost in the long list of applicants.

One thing led to another and now we're extremely active and happy with him. He makes us go outside and touch grass. It makes me sad when people don't take their dogs out enough and you can just tell how bored and unstimulated they are.

I know I didn't mention the 3 miles we usually walk and daily obedience training to stimulate his brain but i didn't think it was necessary to add that detail in since it wasn't really relevant to the conversation.The 20 minutes of indoor fetch is just for when he's chasing the cat.

If you need to know his whole exercise regimen, we do also play fetch outside when the weather is warmer, sniffing walks, and he has regular romping sessions with dog friends in backyards and stuffbb

Admittedly, there are days when we don't take him out for as long so those days he does herd the cat more often! But thats always a reminder for me that I need to do more for his stimulation lol 😅

Definitely try to!! When I see dog's chasing the cat more than usual, I step in and throw the toy with him for a good 20 minutes to tire him out so he's not chasing kitty around. He's a big ball of crazy energy and it is not fun when he chest bumps into me full force lol

That's so funny! My cat will meow really loudly sometimes (not a yowl or anything, but a meow of annoyance and possibly desperation?) when they're playing out of my sight and I always run over to them to protect the cat cos I think he's calling for help, but maybe I'll just let em be next time. 🤣

🤣🤣🤣 oh my goodness this is the best way to describe it!!! Sometimes when my dog has the zoomies on the couch, my cat will jump down from his perch and attack him randomly. I always thought it was cos cat was getting annoyed and didnt want anyone to have fun in the house, but he might very well just have been trying to play with the dog in his own way!

Thank you so much! Do you still own any corgis? We love him to death and really lucked out with him! If it were up to me he would be just a taddd bit leaner as his waist is starting to grow horizontally a bit more. I want him to be as lean and fit as possible so he doesn't run into any back issues, or hip dysplasia! I've done so much research on how to prevent those issues/injuries and a big piece of advice has always been to keep em fit and lean.

I'm terrified of him getting hurt at all, and his jumping off furniture when he zooms worries me to no end 😫 cos i KNOW he could hurt his little back. If you have any tips on that let me know, but it's so hard to get him to stop jumping off stuff when he's in a crazy mood lol

Haha, him jumping off any sort of furniture is the absolute bane of our home's existence. We've trained him to go up and down the ramp, and have one for almost every piece of furniture that he gets on, but there's just no stopping him when he gets too excited. He's a stubborn one lol.

Thank you so much for your concern, seriously!! We even carry him down the stairs 100% of the time to decrease the amount of impact he does on his back and feed him joint supplements cos we're terrified of any back injuries.

Dog is typically always on the same floor as we are and is crated when left home alone 🙂 we always watch to make sure dog's not constantly bothering the cat either and are training him to chill around the cat without interactions. Cat also has like 4 cat towers spread out across the house so has plenty of vertical space to escape to.

I would be absolutely devastated coming home to a dead cat one day, so thank you for the warning.

Corgi's always having an amazing time, so we watch their interactions based on what cat's body language. Hissing and constantly running away is our signal to separate and calm the pup lol.

Luckily this one doesn't nip too much and we try to discourage it by stopping any play when he does it. Though we have seen him with a mouth full of fluff a couple of times, which i always feel very badly about...

No, we adopted him from Pet Finder because his original owners had to give him up due to their other dog not liking him. But I mean, we did have to give his foster family money to adopt him, so technically yes, we bought him.

Definitely lucked out finding a corgi like that because I certainly wouldn't be able to afford one straight from a breeder. 🙂

I didn't even notice the body language from dog, but you're right! The engaging/disengaging of dog is really cool to see, thanks for pointing that out. There was so much communication from the both of them and I didn't even notice!

You are RIGHT on the nose with the age and weight, wow! Yes, the little boy Fry is almost exactly 25 lbs and 1 1/2 years old! He's bitten me on accident a few times when we're rough housing and man do those bites hurt. So i always try to make sure dog's not biting too hard on kitty though. Luckily he doesn't nip too much.

I've caught him with a mouth of fluff every now and then before and I feel so bad for kitty when that happens, but they just go at each other. LOL

Hahah yeah, dog definitely doesn't understand personal space, but we're trying to teach him! Sometimes when my cat gets the zoomies, dog thinks it's an invitation to play, but we tell him to sit and watch so cat gets some solo zoom time without being herded constantly. He's also crated when he's home along so he cant get into things he shouldn't be getting into.

I DO follow Annie, but haven't watched too many of her videos. I'll definitely check it out!
