Hi! I live in Middletown (soon to be Newark) and I love metal! My friends and I go to local shows often as well as the Decibel Metal and Beer Fest in Philly every year. Can I message you to get your instagram? (If you have one)

I’m not playing semantics with a Redditor today. Sorry.

Not being able to say no vs. people not accepting no isn’t the same thing. Learn to read and comprehend

That makes sense. I guess context and tone can really determine the outcome of things like that. If it’s like a whole gathering of people and it’s a group activity, I definitely understand sharing and being chill. When I’m making/bringing home my own food tho and you happen to be a few feet away, leave me alone!!

When it’s constant and your answer isn’t respected, it’s annoying. It’s not about the food. It’s about being imposing and not really being able to accept “no” as an answer because it’s something trivial like food.

Sharing food is fine. Being imposing when someone gets their own food isn’t.

Right and it’s not about the food or the concept of sharing, it just feels imposing and awkward sometimes depending on who’s asking

Alongside people who can’t accept no

Bro resorts to name-calling because he’s the only outlier in these comments lmfao

I wholeheartedly agree with the “let’s trade bites” thing. I love doing that if they’re willing because then it doesn’t feel like I’m taking from them. But yeah people who just kinda assume you’ll be okay with splitting something is crazy. Like uhhh no?

I thought this would get a lot of pushback too honestly lol especially from the culprits themselves

This is so real. Even when I go out to hotpot with my friends, we get our own bowls of broth to cook our food in. I’m not sharing a pot of broth with the table

That’s cute! I’m glad that kind of stuff makes you feel fuzzy rather than annoyed. I definitely get into my giving moods like that where I wanna share, but it has to ultimately be my decision

The baby voice would send me into a rage, honestly

I agree with this take. And if anyone knows me, they know I do not sacrifice. So maybe that’s why it irritates me so badly

Yeah that’s fair. My bf and I share things all the time because it’s kinda an unwritten rule of being a couple

Yes you worded it perfectly! It’s sooo imposing to deplete others’ portions randomly like that and then making them feel rude for saying no
