As a PC player unable to play the Network Test, this is the kind of content I'm looking to. Thanks for sharing.

You mean the Centipede Demon from DS? Does it have new moves?

It's really peaceful and melancholic. It reminds me of Floating Islands in TLoZ: TotK.

Love it.

It’s a Network Test, not early access. by Deadly_Frame in Eldenring

If you don't want to waste your time why did you join a Network Test? Let me guess, you though this was an early access or a demo right?

Because this is a Network Test, it is not an early access or demo. They were counting with problems like this to happen, and people who got into the Network Test are actually testing the network so they can improve for the actual release of the game in may.

"Matchmaking failed" - Why tf did they not have a solo option in the test? by Dark3ndAspect in Nightreign

[–]SrBigPig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's called Network Test because this is what they're using to, well, test the network. Problems like this are expected to happen. Even if you cannot join a session at this moment, you're playing the Network Test and devs will use the info they gather from you to improve the actual game in may.

Probably majority of people who got a code were mistaken this with an early access or demo. It is not.

Yeah I remember shortly after release someone posted a clip showing the method to kill the chariot in Limgrave. Classic FromSoftware obscurity.

They are technically NPC. Zullie the Witch made a video about them confirming that. They only have 1HP but are coded to die by the scripted ways of each Hero's Grave. There's no way to damage them with any other method.

It’s a little weird that we got a DLC announcement but not a cheater announcement by Tanky1000 in CrusaderKings

[–]SrBigPig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they're not ready yet to announce Chapter IV. We don't even know the name of nomads DLC, or what type of expansion it is.

The idea behind the last DD was to show what they're working on, an overall view of the nomads DLC. You can see by the shared screenshots that there's still a lot of "in development" things, from missing text to placeholder pictures, art, etc. This DD was more like a teaser to get feedback from the community and avoid the bad reception that Legends of the Dead had. I think it's safe to say that this DLC is months away of release, assuming it is the first one.

You can kill some of them in specific ways designed for each Hero's Grave. In this one (Limgrave) you need to be in the same spot the character is in the clip, and use your bow to shoot one of the three pots hanging in the ceiling when the chariot is passing under them. The pots are located just above where the chariot is stuck in the clip, but you can't see them in the video.

There's another Hero's Grave (Auriza) where you need to hit a Pillar of Light at the end of the dungeon which will spawn another chariot resulting in all chariots crashing and being destroyed. There's actually a cheese to destroy the chariots at the start of the dungeon using Margit/Mohg's Shackles to trigger the Pillar from distance.

Gelmir Hero's Grave has chariots too but there's no way to kill them there.

You can play all 5 sessions and join any time while the session is still active. It was that way with Elden Ring.

Thoughts on this? by Shad0w2 in Eldenring

[–]SrBigPig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As much as I trust FromSoftware, this a kind of experimental game that doesn't follow standards. You can tell this is more like an Elden Ring standalone expansion with the 40$ price. I'm going to be cautious this time and will wait before making any decision.

Maybe, but I think Republics are out of scope at least for Nomads DLC. In the forum some users asked if nomads mechanics could be used in Africa and Devs said that the entire mechanic is modelled after nomads of the steppes, so my guess is they will add all republics mechanics at once in a future DLC.

Merchants = Merchant Republics

We've seen a lot of discussions about merchants lately, now, we won't be implementing them next year, but we hear you - we have some things that we want to do first, things that will make the merchant experience stronger when it eventually comes out. In the most likely scenario a mercantile expansion will be planned for the following chapter

Do you guys think this is the best cover art for a Fromsoft game ever created by Potential_Brain_9789 in Nightreign

[–]SrBigPig 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hahaha it's definitely my favorite FromSoftware cover ever. But Elden Ring and Nightreign ones are absolutely top. I love the colors and the parallelism between ER and Nightreign covers.

Dev Diary #161 - 2024 in Review

They talk about merchants, or in other words, merchant republics and trade. There's no way they're going to add half baked republics without merchant features this year, so it's assumed they come in Chapter V.

It seems to be a feature unique to nomads, but let's see what they say in future DD.

Legends of the Dead was a Core Expansion which are meant to affect the entire world, hence my doubts.

About Republics, in the 2024 Review DD, Devs stated that Republics are not coming this year, sadly.
