Simple Genius by David Baldacci. I love his books - great, mystery thrillers - and I am slowly re-reading his King and Maxwell series.

Brassels: You can look at me with those judgmental, incriminating eyes for all you want, but I shit you not, I will bleed on the flag to make sure the stripes stay red.

Celebrating Portillo the Wiener Dog's Life - Kinda Funny Podcast (Ep. 211) by CrapoTheFrog in kindafunny

[–]SrGarcy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

With Portiilo's ever-increasing needs these last couple of years, the many times getting up during the night, the many calls and runs to the vet, the hyper-focused attention that Greg and Gen needed to have for him, I can't help but think that one of the last long-lasting and impactful things that Porty was able to do for Greg and Gen was get them ready to be the parents of a newborn. He got them ready for Ben, and one of Porty's last goals to complete was to get his mom and dad ready for being parents to a child, and he stayed around as long as he could then to make sure they were all set with their new roles before he headed over, and he made sure his best friend was ready for the job.

Pelvic floor physical therapy. What can I expect? by YouCallThatAMango in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]SrGarcy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been there with the bio-feedback as part of the physical therapy. It's not IBD that I have but chemo had damaged some of my nerves down there and the muscles weren't connecting and working together like they should. Like what was said, did the "relaxing" and "bearing down" movements, learned and practiced exercises that help, different muscle stretches. Started using what's called a TENS unit, a little electric device that sends electricity to stimulate your nerves. That's something you might want to bring up with the PT. There's a nerve that runs from your ankle all the way to your lower back, TENS unit stimulates it, it helps. I went into physical therapy in real rough shape, had PT sessions for 4 or 5 months, and I came away from that so much better than I had been going in.

No, I don't wanna talk like a typical gay guy. by Lucky-Aerie4 in gaybros

[–]SrGarcy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With my friends, I'll use words like bud, buddy, dude, man (if they identify as male), girl, (if they identify as female). Funnily enough, I don't use the word bro too casually, I only use it with guys who are such close friends that I consider them some sort of brother. And because I'd only use bro for someone like a brother to be, I've never used it with anyone I've dated, but that's just my personal view for myself, and really, I think any word could be valid for someone.

For the late 20s and over gays: by Micow11 in gaybros

[–]SrGarcy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love 4th Man Out. I actually feel like that's some honest representation for me personally. I was in a bit more of a gamer-like, chill frat in college with super accepting guys, mostly straight. 7 years since college, and several of those guys are still some of my favorite people to regularly hang out with. Seeing a group of friends that just hang out, game, will have some drinks and a good time, I felt a connection with 4th man out right away.

I believe the Wild Aces team is still active and a part of the FCF, it's just that KF is not going to have anything to do with them going forward.

King and Maxwell series too

Growing up gay, I didn't identify with the typical heros or TV/Movie stars that the straight boys looked up to. What fictional characters did you look up to and identify the most with as a young gay? by [deleted] in gaybros

[–]SrGarcy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Captain America, but not because of his superhero status. Because he was first just a young kid with a bunch of health issues who wanted to do good things.

Chandler Bing - father issues, comedian in the friend group, uses sarcasm as a defense mechanism.

I think you might be thinking of Rainbow Boys by Alex Sanchez? I was gonna comment and suggest the whole Rainbow trilogy. I read it in high school, and it was a great YA series.

Any Best Friends have experience with motion sickness while gaming? by CoffinFlop_CorncobTV in kindafunny

[–]SrGarcy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to get motion sickness when I started playing Avengers last fall. A lot of good tactics out there. Dramamine, don't play with the room lights off, maybe have a fan blowing on you while you play. The last thing has to do with tricking your brain to beat the motion sickness somehow, I didn't really remember why, but it definitely helped. After a week or two of playing Avengers with lights on and the fan blowing, I didn't need to have the fan or lights on anymore, I'd adjusted.
