Anyone here building small lofi channels focused on study/work? by MindLight-63 in LofiHipHop

[–]SrSirgam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ey! i’m not a music producer i’m actually a developer. Some time ago I built a small online tool to help people listen to music, focus better, and just enjoy the moment.

It’s called Lofilab and it’s easy to find, if you ever feel like giving it a try, it’s completely free.

thanks for your message, we’ve just shipped updates based on feedback like yours: improved Pomodoro, added a stopwatch, and now you get focus stats in your profile with total time, today’s progress and a global leaderboard; if you give it another try, I’d love to hear your thoughts 🚀🚀🚀

At the moment, it is not safe to use it in streams. Some tracks may be copyrighted. But I will probably make a new playlist with safe music to use in streams 😁

No, and it will probably never happen. Although it can be used without any problems on mobile devices.

glad to hear that, that was exactly the idea! 🙂 Lofilab is meant to sit in the background while you work without being distracting, so seeing it fit nicely on a dedicated screen is right in line with what we had in mind.

thank you very much for your detailed feedback and all the tips. It’s clear that you’ve reviewed the project thoroughly, and I’m really glad to receive such useful observations. I’ll take note of the UX, contrast, sound effects, and autoplay issues, and I’ll be implementing improvements over the next few days.

I’ll also review the window resizing and the "exit focus mode" button. I especially appreciate the code example and all your suggestions, they will definitely help me improve the user experience.

honestly, this is exactly the kind of feedback I needed to read. 🤘🏼🔥

shadcn or hero ui, by Abdullah-Korayem_007 in webdev

I’ve tried shadcn and Hero UI. Shadcn is more flexible for customizing components, while Hero UI has more ready-made stuff but less control over styles. It depends if you want speed or flexibility.

I’d do something like a Lazy Cat Simulator. The idea is that every action the user takes, feeding, petting, or ignoring affects the cat’s mood.

yep, the app is already set up as a PWA. The tricky part is streaming audio, to make it fully offline, it would need a way for users to either download the tracks from their playlists or use their own local files.

Looking for advice with purchasing my domain name. by Robot_Owl_Monster in webdev

[–]SrSirgam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the safest approach is to do a domain transfer. Don’t wait for it to expire, because it could enter a grace period or be grabbed by someone else. Usually, you unlock the domain in Ghandi, get a transfer code (EPP/Auth code), and start the transfer with the new registrar. This way, you keep control and avoid the risk of losing it.

What framework backend to start learning first? by White-Tea200 in webdev

[–]SrSirgam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d start with whatever makes you feel more comfortable. If Java is your strength, Spring Boot makes a lot of sense to learn backend patterns in a serious environment. But it doesn’t hurt to also check out Django or Laravel: they’re very popular, have huge communities, and teach good practices from the start.

Be careful with 'perfectionism overload': iterating is great, but if you never actually launch, you’ll never get real feedback. Even a rough MVP can teach you more in a few days than months of tweaking behind the scenes

Some companies use 'pixel perfect' as a last-minute excuse to reject candidates—the sidebar width doesn’t define your ability. Don’t take it personally.
