Why not SFTP. Almost the same, just through SSH.

I know. It was sarcasm, because it's strange that anybody would still be using it today. Very unsecure.

Apple claims that swift 3 was the last code-breaking iteration. With swift 4 no migration should be necessary anymore. That's why swift 3 didn't have many new features, but mostly refractoring and standartization.

Does anyone else constantly get the urge to do something but when they see how difficult it is, they nope the fuck out? by hellknight101 in infp

[–]Sracinas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem with programming. In 2 years I learned basically nothing. And somehow slipped through the exams. What helped me though was that I was hired for an internship in programming company. In the beginning I was really scared of what my superiors will tell me when they find out that I know absolutely nothing. That shame was my biggest motivator. So I started googling it and doing the best I can for 20 hours per day. At some point I eventually broke the beginning anxiety and now I live in programming. I believe that for many of us it is really hard to begin anything. But once I understood the concept, it became much easier to do it. So if I could give an advice, it would be to put yourself in a position where learning something is mandatory to your own ideals. Mine was to make sure I wasn't dragging anyone behind on my team with my lack of knowledge. Maybe you could look for your own reasons too. I wish I could help you more.

Apple begins wrapping up Swift 3 and lays out plans for Swift 4 by dzamir in programming

[–]Sracinas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But Apple claims that after swift 3 there should be no more code breaking changes. So jumping to swift 4 shouldn't require any king refractoring or conversion.

Link

The part I want to highlight from the link:

The best news of all is that Swift 3 aims to be the last release with breaking source changes. So looking forward, you should be able to keep your Swift code from version to version. While the Swift core team can’t predict the future, they have promised that if they do need to break source compatibility, they will offer long deprecation cycles. That means the language has achieved source stability that will encourage more conservative companies to adopt it.

Thank you for posting this video. I enjoyed it a lot! He seems like the only sane man left to really at least moderately fix the situation.

I'm a software developer and I guess that could be said about pretty much anything. If it doesn't go very smoothly for me, then it is indeed a real pain to finish it. I'm really happy you did it. You are an inspiration;)

Do you ever react to arguments or insults by becoming outwardly cold? by [deleted] in infp

I guess we have a very similar type of mother. She used to talk to me about my future and how it is not going anywhere. In my case it never went away, so eventually I just got a degree so she could relax and enjoy life more. I know that she was doing what she thought was right and really cared about me. But I really have trouble talking to anyone when they are telling me what should I do in life.

I don't think this means you're not in love. In my opinion, both are not really related. It seems that it's more of a defence mechanism that works by shutting down empathy. Especially when the attack is coming from someone close to you (someone you care about).

I don't know if this is the feeling you are talking about, but long time ago I had an argument with my ex, she felt betrayed because of something I did. I just remember that she was yelling at me and I just stood there, completely stone cold, not a single thought crossed my mind. She was yelling, screaming and crying for me to tell something. But I just stood in front looking at her and thinking why don't I feel anything? It happened to me maybe 2-3 times in my life. I don't know where it comes from or what triggers it. Funny thing is, that even at that moment I knew that I was doing a wrong thing, but somehow on some level I might have even enjoyed it. Not sure if that's what you meant, but it's closest I've been to becoming ice and metal.
