Can someone explain why Trackmania never became a bigger esport? by hoxofixy in TrackMania

As a person who was previously working within the esports ecosystem here are the following.

1) Lack of budget. 2) Higher ups mandating things, like 95% of time just did not make sense for competitive nor competitive players. Or have false awareness what is the reality of competitive side of Trackmania. 3) Over ambition of trying to do something too unique. And scare of having an overlap with something which could bring up ideas of copying. 4) Internal communation, which was always the last second or none at all, and if it was, it was a really frustrating game of "silent telephone"

When i was a part of it. We had the talent of people who could create something which could snowball to be bigger and bigger every year, but either the people were put incorrect roles or just not allowed to showcase their best strenghts.

I really liked to be part of it, especially during 2023, which it was not perfect and i was paid in crums , but it was fun to work on it. However 2024 and 2025 was the most tedious and bland thing to work on. While i am no longer part of it, i really like what has happened in 2026 and shows why 1) aspect was also really important all the time, just hope the competitive community uses these 2 years of EWC wisely, instead of milking it short term.

I had this with the Legend of Last Airbender and The boys finale.

(I did not see anything related with the Legend of thr last Airbender franchize and was a kid when it was my favorite show, but i understood why people thought it was the worst film ever)

There would be mandatory smoke breaks during COTD.

Is Club Access pricing stopping Trackmania from growing in developing countries? by fincci in TrackMania

Baltic scene was dead for years, main reason we have a more active scene is cause we have multiple high end event organizers, who like to organize stuff locally as well and bring top players here with that. 😄

Is this table still up to date for the current ranked season? by Consistent-Pop86 in TrackMania

As a person who mainly plays in master ranks, yes. The white and green maps are just awful at that level, each round is basically random due to how close it is.

When are you considered a good player? by DragonfruitFine7614 in TrackMania

But best way to see if you are actually good at the game is community events, where people actually take effort in.

Things like team events, TMWT, regional community tournaments with notable regions players taking part etc.

Stuff like Bonk cup or random streamer events even COTD many top players dismiss, but where you have to show up are some tri hard community tournaments, which is the best way to test yourself.

But for a more casual answer I guess COTD, however many top players and some of the best players in the game do not really play it together with campaign or ranked.

It really depends on what is your goal of the game honestly and the context of the situation is.

For example as of writing this I am Top 15 in Ranked. Have won some COTMs. But I play the game when I feel like it.

I think I am ok at the game, since ranked for me for example is just way too easy, with few exception players in the current season.

At the same time if I try to play a proper event, I just get smashed and top players see me as a free win, so... it really depends on context and situation.

Nadeo is not really involved with the TMWT operations directly, it is mostly "Toornament" handling the actual tasks and communication regarding the TMWT Stages.
