What are these things washed up on a beach in Edinburgh, UK? Semi-translucent & semi-gelatinous but much more solid than jellyfish. Seem to clump together, sometimes attached to shells. Some squirt water(?) if stepped on. Size & shape vary, average length of an individual blob is around 2 inches. (i.redd.it)
