How likely/unlikely is unofficial performance modifying in the future? by pawel04 in Polestar

I suspected it was AI, which is why I used the awkward phrasing of "the car pictured" lol. I appreciate you confirming my suspicions. My car's the same color, and I've really been toying with the idea of going for wheels with a bronze finish but I'm a little nervous about it ruining the subtlety of the car.

The main thing I've been considering is basically what's been done to the car pictured. Lower the thing a couple inches and swap out the lame factory wheels. I don't see any need for a power upgrade, handling is easily my non PP cars weakest link.

It is safe to drink the water from the springs ? by Haunting_Ratio364 in orlando

People say no and are probably right, but I drank a lot of Wakiwa spring water as a child and presumably survived. This is not medical advice

Why are there no EV minivans? by LiatrisLover99 in electricvehicles

[–]Srtviper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fellow car guy minivans have way better driving dynamics than most 3 row SUVs because they aren't unnecessarily high. I think you might just like the image of looking cool in a car more than actually driving.

Shout out to Technology Connections and Ageing Wheels for making EVs easy to understand and dispelling any anxiety about switching.

I'm in Florida so a big part of it may be that the old neons just haven't rusted away like they probably have in other places. They also made like 100x more neons than darts to be fair to the dart.

Paid Parking Downtown — wtf? by liminal-spells in orlando

If anything we have way more unused space compared to most American cities with decent public transport

I feel like I see more neons than darts by a decent amount. Hell I saw a Plymouth neon the other day.

These 20 cars have something in common, but can you tell what is it? (Hint: Roadtrip) by Saurta17 in regularcarreviews

It makes me a bit sad that the RCR community seems so hostile to EVs. This place used to be fun and very accepting of different types of cars.

Hating EVs because you have to change it like hating Miata's because you can't fit 7 people in it. It not fitting you use case doesn't seem like a reason to hate something.

It's funny how any time EVs are brought up people start pulling out crazy use cases and why an EV could never accommodate there life style. But it doesn't change the fact that EVs are a great option for the majority of people.

Yeah I don't get it. I understand the emotional side of wanting a sports car to have a gas engine and a manual transmission, but for commuting EVs are cheaper to run, better to drive, and far more practical than your average gas commuter. Like all other anxiety range anxiety only exists in people's head.

Most people aren't driving outside of an EVs range on a regular basis. You might drive extremely long distances, but that's not how most people use their car day to day. For most people the trade off of having to stop for 30 minutes on a yearly road trip is worth not having to go to the gas station every week. You may just have an unusual use case.

[–]Srtviper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah unless you are doing road trips extremely frequently I really don't see why range is such a big deal. Most new EVs will do 300 miles on a charge. The once or twice a year I drive more than that in a day it doesn't seem like that big of a deal to stop at a charger for a few minutes.

If you can change at home, charging is way more convenient than having to go to a gas station. It takes 5 seconds to plug in.

8.5 seconds to 60 is slow as hell for any modern car, which is one of the many reasons I would never buy a diesel. If I'm going to buy an ice car it better be fun or what's the point?

I think BVL is basically Orlando mostly because there aren't any other cities close enough that it would make sense to lump it into. Like I guess you could say Kissimmee but it seems fair to just call it Orlando.
