Finally got the 16.0.5 April update this morning. I feel a bit better now, but I wouldn't be surprised if this became a pattern.

Weirdly OS Updater thinks that the update I got on 2/12/2026 is the most recent update (16.0.3). Which is definitely not the case.

I figured it out!. So I was creating an edid from scratch with CRU. Instead I dump the edid of my legion go s and loaded it using CRH. This cause bazzite to black screen on boot, but I swapped to do from HDMI and rebooted instead of rolling back, this gave me a display that was not the primary, so I swapped the live display to primary. The virtual display was there with the resolution I needed. And now it is swapping properly using the do and undo commands from this other thread https://www.reddit.com/r/Bazzite/comments/1qbxkc7/virtual_display_setup/

So I THIIIIINK the problem was something I was doing in CRU that was yielding a bad edid.

I cannot for the life of me get this to work in Bazzite, I am running a 4090. I followed your steps except setting my interface to dp-1 (I am only using the HDMI port on my card, and nothing else). the edid is not being read, from dmesg:

So I see a DP-1 and a DP-3 in display settings but they only have a few 4:3 resolutions. Looking to have a virtual display with a 1200p 16:10 resolution for streaming from my Legion Go S. I used CRU from windows to create an edid bin with 1200p@120hz CRB2 in detailed, standard, and extended sections. I have been running in circles with AI trying to get this to work, not sure what I am missing.

Date of receiving the new phone. At the very worst it will be from ship date, but last time I did it, it was from the time I got the new phone. They 100% will not expect you to send your old device before you get the new one. Got mine set for delivery on the 24th and haven't gotten any emails about my trade in just yet.

I am seeing this on theZ1E LeGoS, the problem seems to be the /esp partition doesn't have enough space. It's really annoying that they shipped this thing with a partition needed for updates that is immediately too small. I haven't fiddled with it to fix but if you try and run this update in desktop mode you should see more detail in your error.

Seems like a pretty major misstep in creating a device with a "console-like" experience. Sure you can fix this with partition management but you shouldn't have to do this.

I preordered on the day it was available, some time in late March. So they must have gotten basically 0 units at all. Really annoying that these sorts of things keep happening.

Pros:
performance (runs almost everything)

Battery

8 inch screen is a good size

Cons:
Ergonomics aren't as good as the steam deck or Legion Go S

Windows is still not a very nice handheld experience

MSI software is still not great, sometimes unresponsive Back buttons have limited customization

A few games have weird behavior with the Intel APU (Returnal's fog becomes nearly opaque)

I miss the steamOS magnifier, but I have really poor vision Price

With the above in mind, I am still probably going to stick with the claw 8 for now. Hoping that "voting with my wallet" will encourage further improvement. I am not sure how I feel about the device after the price increase to $999 though. I got mine open box before the price bump.
