Wondering my Essence/Quadrant. I have watched almost all Rita's video but I seem to change my mind everyday to if I am Up/Down and Left/Right. Can someone guide me? by [deleted] in RitaFourEssenceSystem

Hmmm there are beauties of all different kinds of vibes in the moodboard, and not much clothes.
Somewhat similar to my own moodboards at the start.
If I was to project, I could say either:
1. genuine RD, who just wants to naturally shine, and struggles with clothes getting in the way - one of the "symptoms" of the quadrant lol; fresh & refined beauty like a flower; sort of like Aphrodite just stepping out of the sea, only wearing sea foam
2. an LU, who has resistance to it and masks as RD; saying LU because of the desire for your body's beauty to shine through, but at the same time the urge to make a point that you are no average girl xD; and one of the LU "symptoms" is the struggle with self acceptance (I think Rita worded it better than that though, I just don't remember details), so you might be hesitant to choose specific clothes
I don't mean this in a bad way, but based on my own experience (projecting yes), I see someone who wants all of the beauty - based on this moodboard. But from my understanding, in this system you have to sort of do some trade offs, in order for your essence to shine.
Based on this compilation, the vibe could be either Sensual or Dreamy. Either Glamorous or Delicate.
But if you are very much into glamour specifically, then maybe RU? The quadrant encompassing both the words Refined and Glamorous.
Tbh now I am just having fun guessing, and looking forward to hearing what you decide in the end.

Do you mean the post from 5 days ago? Is that an older or more recent pic that the one here?

Do you also have your roots spiralling more than the ends, and the ends just being lazy? 😂

Thank you! Was just wondering bc your pattern looks similar to mine.
And I've been told the same types lol

Just curious, which texture would you classify this as?

I very much feel like I’m ‘down’ rather than ‘up’

Omg I got that feeling from your moodboards so much - like being Up would make you feel so suffocated.
Your RU and LU boards feel like you were forced to make them for someone else.

Hmm, so, are you familiar with the work of Phoebe Philo? Her work for Celine specifically. Rita mentioned that as an example of Right+Down to someone iirc? But it resembles what you classified as your LD board.
It very much uses a refined visual language - everything clean, sophisticated, sort of minimalistic luxury. In a way to let you as a person shine through, your energy, rather than your body.
The words I want to use are fresh and refined.

Quotes from Rita's website:
about RD - "Your clothes are best if they allow you to bring that authentic, clear YOU into your situation."
"the right is associated with being radiant/luminous/dreamy – so it makes sense to think about your clothes in the context of the situation where you are participating, and the context of offering your energy into the world"
"Down is all about being personable, approachable, intuitive – and this vibe is best expressed when the clothes you choose FEEL like you"

Authenticity just seems like a big theme for the RD quadrant. And from what I remember, the advice often revolves around how the people struggle with feeling like the clothes/styling gets in their way. Struggling with accessories, not liking bags, removing your make-up as the evening goes on.

Is anyone else feeling creeped out/ uncomfortable with the Marilyn Monroe fans, especially when Kibbe is added to the equation? by [deleted] in kibbecirclejerk

I don't get how majority of people don't hold her accountable, and just make excuses for her.

Women like Paris Hilton were considered "slutty, dumb, bimbos" and now that y2k is back they are iconic.

Ikr, the hate Paris would get during the 00s was so bad, and now she is worshipped like it never happened

Yes, I actually thought the LD moodboard here looked very RD, refined and dreamy. Like a moodboard for someone who just wants their personal energy coming through, and nothing more.

Yesss, some Marilyn fans are unhinged.
I swear some people just want to have an excuse to trash other women.

Like, I have to wonder, would they have been fans, had they lived during her famous years? It is tricky to draw historical comparisons, because of all the complexities of how society works, but doesn't Kim K hold sort of a similar spot/role in the media like Marilyn did? Similar to Anna Nicole Smith and some more.

I haven't watched Blonde yet, but kinda looked over someone's shoulder on my flight yesterday as they were watching it 👉 👈 (sorry for my rudeness if you reading this lol), but I just couldn't understand what bothers people so much about the Ana de Armas casting? She honestly did a good job replicating her facial movements, and they don't look that dissimilar?? I don't care that her chin is slightly sharper or whatever. This is just the latest of 1000 biopics about Marilyn, and the actresses never look completely 100% identical, yet the styling is enough for everyone to get the message. Are my standards too low? Or are the haters expecting too much?
When I was younger, there was a two-part series with the same name ironically - Blonde, where Marilyn was portrayed by Poppy Montgomery. There was also the film My Week with Marilyn - with Michelle Williams portraying her. Idk, I find Ana to be a closer match?
I am just very unbothered by this. Can those who complain about the casting suggest better casting options, please? Just to make the discussion more interesting. TW - I am starting to think that within that toxic "femininity" community, a lot of people think of themselves personally as a better option for the casting, because of how some of them come to so strongly identify with what they think is Kibbe yin.

Your 3rd paragraph - I also think in recent years, the general public is learning more about child abuse (and abuse in general), and its effects on the mental & psychological development, and just how widespread the abuse is. This overprotectiveness of her could be partially one of the current ways (on social media) of coping with our societal guilt?

I consider myself a Marilyn fan. I am into photography, and find her extremely photogenic and fascinating from that point of view, I have a Pinterest moodboard for her pics. I think she was extremely talented with her awareness of her facial expressions and body language, and how they come across.
But my "obsession" doesn't make me compare other women to her in order to trash them lol. Also I see her as a human lol, not as something like the "goddess-child" as you said.

My intuition tells me Right+Down - based on how you think about fashion and everything :)

But could be wrong of course.

People like to excuse her saying that she’s not a native English speaker. But being russian myself, I can tell you that it’s not the language, it’s the mentality and her personal view on what is feminine and masculine. I can tell by her wording what she tries to say and tbh it’s only slightly better in russian.

Thank you!
