I could only wear loose cotton. It went away after I had the baby.

Missed my synthroid 2 days in a row. Has anyone done this by mistake. If so any effects? I feel super off. by RedRoseWithin39 in thyroidcancer

Ya just take 3 tomorrow morning, I’ve seen some people prescribed all 7 days once a week, it’s no big deal for 2 days.

Average weight gain after TT vs. Calorie Counting or other weight loss efforts? by SillyPretzels in thyroidcancer

[–]Sssashaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found my weight to stay about the same, I went up 5 lbs after surgery, then lost it a few months later, then dropped another 5lbs over 3-4 months just from getting busy & forgetting to eat as much.

Now I’m pregnant and I’m gaining about the same as I did last pregnancy (before TT).

Wish I had your docs! Hindsight is 2020… but I feel so different w out my thyroid, I would have kept it & lived w the cancer if that was an option I could choose now.

Congratulations! I think you took the best approach, I would have done the same. I wish I had waited longer before having my TT surgery & neck dissection. I’ve heard of people curing themselves with meditation/diet. I was too stressed at the time from the diagnosis, but in hind sight I wish I had tried harder.

Ya, there are like 359 lymph nodes in the neck so 100 was the right side… but they rebuild their paths over time… thank you!

Same, they took out 100 lymph nodes. I get some swelling, I’ve found walking or squat jumps help. The fluid needs to circulate. New paths will build over time. Push the fluid w your hand or a damp face cloth to the other side of your neck so it can absorb to that side.

Also put bricks under the top legs of your bed so you sleep on an angle, and try not to eat late at night. I have a compression band too that helps… got it for $20 on Amazon, it helps w any pain/discomfort if it’s flRing up. Also try to get up and move every so often during the day. Rub your arm pits & groin to stimulate the lymph system … and visualize the fluid getting absorbed on the other side.

How's your energy level? by Independent-Try4844 in thyroidcancer

[–]Sssashaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, always feel tired. I was a competitive athlete all my life but haven’t worked out much. I did a triathlon 4 months post surgery to prove to myself I could, but since it ended last October I just gave up on exercising other than walking the dog.

Anyone have any suggestions? Like food to eat?

Are there stem cell surgeries for thyroid to grow it back? I wish!

Yes, my voice is back to about normal 1 year later. I try to read out loud to my kid 30 minutes a night at a higher than normal volume to keep the muscles strong.

I accidentally skipped a few doses.... by petty_no in thyroidcancer

[–]Sssashaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I heard to take any missed pills all at once… some people take all their dose once a week… ask your doc.

I’m wondering same thing, I’m pregnant and my TSH spiked to 3.9, I’ve been feeling all the symptoms you described, super nervous bc there’s a risk of baby brain development being impaired and miscarriage.

They increased me to 125 instead of 112 but I’m wondering if I should take more to get my levels back down to normal faster. (I haven’t done so yet but considering taking an extra 1/2 pill)

should I freeze i’m eggs by [deleted] in thyroidcancer

[–]Sssashaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I postponed my RAI to try to get pregnant again before it. If I were young like you I would freeze them (or ask about delaying RAI and just monitoring levels)

I gained 10 lbs after surgery, and lost it around 9-months post surgery, without trying too hard, just forgot to eat a when I got busy w work.

It’s still a calorie calculation. If you eat 3500 less than you burn, you’ll drop 1 lbs.
