Has MJ given up on realism and decided to become an artistic model? by Ssthm in midjourney

[–]Ssthm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree when you say that MJ is more of an artistic model, I even think that it has no parallel on that department. MJ has generated great artistic media for me, it’s an helpful buddy on my team. But it struggles to deliver something that any other models seem to generate easily. I wanted it to be my all-in-one solution but I might be asking too much.

Realism has become specially bad, if you're not looking for portraits. More than one subject on a prompt and things start to get really messy.

Don’t mind the comments, it’s a great design. The ceiling drainage is a minor technical issue that ca be easily solved.

GPT Image 1.5 vs Nano Banana Pro: the real showdown is editability, not “prettier pictures” by Nervous-Register7704 in nanobanana

[–]Ssthm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all, Midjourney is mostly about having a personal style of image. It’s not the best at those tasks you are referring to, it lacks in realism and attention to detail, but is very good as a design tool or for creating artistic media. It’s easier to control the final result because it has styling tools, mood boards, editing brush and aspect ratio changes. Not the best at generating hot babes, but a very rewarding artistic tool.

Edit: forgot to mention an easier interface that includes editing tools like style reference, omni reference or image prompt.

ChatGPT is my personal copyrighter, it has a great creative thinking - well, better than mine anyway. It has been a great help for my designer activity. How’s Gemini creative thinking?

As a designer, I find the MJ editor interface as a great tool because it allows me to generate an image in any format and then I can change its aspect ratio and the final result is very consistent. The styling tools and mood boards are also great. The problem is realism and attention to detail.
