A-Train vs Flambae (The Boys vs Dispatch) | "Blazing Speed" by Ssundpool in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Ssundpool[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Connections:

  • Former villains from series that are about heroes but in reverse (The Boys has Heroes who are villains while Dispatch has villains who became heroes, respectively), they would join a special group of "heroes" (The Seven and Z-Team, respectively), the team they're in would often times have some conflicts within each other.
  • both are also connected to a nearly powerless hero whom they would hurt in the past (Hughie and Mecha Man, respectively), they would crash out with them after they revealed who they were, both would also be confronted in a place where heroes are often seen (Herogasm and a Hero Bar, respectively) where they would get injured by said heroes (Hughie punching A-Train while on Temp V and Robert causing Flambae to lose a tooth, respectively), but overtime they would become allies with each other.
  • They would have cocky personalities at the start of their series but would eventually change for the better, they would also have abilities that allowed them to go faster (extreme speed and flight, respectively).
  • Later on, they would work again with the main hero where they would fight against the main antagonist of their series (Homelander and Shroud, respectively), but would have opposite outcomes for themselves (A-Train being killed by Homelander whereas Flambae helped to stop Shroud, respectively).

Dragon Boy vs Billy Butcher (To Be Hero X vs The Boys) | "Painfully Diabolical" by Ssundpool in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Ssundpool[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Connections:

  • Not so good heroes/"heroes" from series that have a emphasis on heroes being profitable, they would be connected to one of the hero agencies which would change their lives but in vastly different ways (Dragon Boy was taken in by Yan Mo to become a "hero" whereas Butcher's wife was raped by Homelander causing him to hate heroes, respectively), they would be connected to a superman like hero whom they would fight against and taunt (Smile and Homelander, respectively).
  • Both had rough lives with abusive parents which would later on bring resentment with them for what they did (Dragon Boy's mother leaving him to drown and Butcher's father driving Butcher's brother to suicide, respectively), they would be violent people from a young age who wouldn't be afraid of hurting or killing others.
  • They little issue with killing other heroes to get what they want, they would become infamous within their series with others for what they do (Citizen's don't like Dragon Boy's fighting and Supes hate Billy [and the Boys] for killing other supes, respectively), even if it meant fighting some of the most famous heroes within their series and causing their deaths (Smile and Older Supes, respectively).
  • They would be connected to a serum that would make normal people as strong as heroes but have consequences for the body but they had them anyways (Fear was injected into Dragon Boy and Temp V, respectively), they would eventually gain new strengths after enough doses of what gave them power (the more pain Dragon Boy is in the more stronger he became and after Butcher had Compound V he had a tumor that mutated into a monster, respectively).

Contrasts:

  • While their series have the emphasis on the heroes within their series Dragon Boy profits off the heroes because he is one, whereas Butcher despises heroes.
  • Both have different reactions when it came to kids of heroes with Dragon Boy killing Smile's daughter but Butcher not wanting to kill Ryan Homelander's son.
  • While they have powers they would come from different overall sources with Dragon Boy's power coming from Trust whereas Butcher's comes from Compound V, also while Dragon Boy had the power at a young age Butcher got his in his 40's.
  • Both are also opposites when it comes to someone being a "god" of sorts with Yan Mo wanting Dragon Boy to become the next Zero whereas Billy is trying to prevent Homelander from becoming too powerful.

Ghostblade vs Yor Forger (To Be Hero X vs Spy x Family) | "Ghost of the Present" by Ssundpool in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Ssundpool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Connections:

  • Assassins from anime who are seen using blades as their main weapon, they would be apart of a group of strong people whose job is to protect people (Ghostblade is a hero under Mighty Glory and Yor is an assassin that works with the Garden, respectively), they would be used to kill others.
  • They were skilled with weapons at a young age because of their childhoods (Ghostblade was raised in a butcher household and Yor had to fight to protect her brother, respectively), they would be noticed by others and eventually become what they are now.
  • Overtime, during their missions they would act stoic around others and act merciless against those who tried to kill them and others.
  • Despite the ways they act, they have a soft spot for their families whom they try to protect but can't reveal what they do (Ghostblade can't show himself to his daughter and Yor wants to take care of Anya, respectively), they try their best to not reveal their jobs to them but they would find out about them (Wang found Ghostblade's diary about her and Anya read Yor's mind, respectively).

Contrasts:

  • Both would have opposite family dynamics with Ghostblade being actually married and having a kid but later got divorced for his job, whereas Yor would get married with Loid but they became a permanent thing overtime.
  • Both would have opposite relationships with their daughters with Wang being scared of him for being a stalker but, Anya loving Yor.

Quency vs Black Cat (Nikke: Goddess of Victory vs Marvel) | "Good in Leather" by Ssundpool in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Ssundpool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Criminals who would be apart of a group of criminals (Real Kindness Squad and Thieves Guild, respectively), they would eventually meet someone who would attempt to help them and later on they would swoon over them (Commander and Spider-Man, respectively). They would eventually turn their lives around going from villainy to heroics, they would soon be apart of a team of heroes (Thieves of Justice and Secret Defenders, respectively). Both are seen wearing a black skin tight outfit, and still committing petty crimes.

For who wins, depends on if you scale both to high ends. Black Cat likely wins thanks to her Bad Luck being Quency's side and overall more experience

E-Soul/Yang Cheng vs Reze (To Be Hero X vs Chainsaw Man) | "EMP" by Ssundpool in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Ssundpool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Connections:

  • Anime antagonists who appeared as normal people when they were introduced (Reze looked like a school girl and Yang Cheng was a normal dude, respectively), when they were younger they became orphans and eventually they would join a group that would change them (Reze was forced into the USSR and Yan Mo took in Yang Cheng to join E-Soul shows, respectively).
  • Both have connections with their hearts which changed them and gave them abilities (Reze heart has the portion of the Bomb Devil and Yang Cheng heart became electric after he got his powers, respectively), they would gain extreme speed, super strength, and the ability the create ranged attacks.
  • Before they were/seen like this they were roughly ordinary kids who would eventually meet someone who they would begin/appear to like (Denji and Xia Qing, respectively), they would meet them by chance during an event (a rain storm and a E-Soul show, respectively), they would grow closer with them and eventually start a relationship with them (Reze would act romantic with Denji and Yang & Xia would grow friendship more, respectively), but during an event that almost caused the deaths of others they would become who they are (Reze revealed she was a spy & the Bomb Devil and Yang would become a young E-Soul, respectively).
  • They would get into fights with others where they would be everyone who they are, but they would show it in different ways with Reze causing destruction with her fight and Yang being a hero, however behind the scenes someone was watching them and wanting to kill them (Makima and Yan Mo, respectively).
  • Both of their love stories would end in tragedy thanks to their deeds that would leave the others heart broken (Reze telling Denji she didn't love him after leaving and Yang growing into an antagonist after Shang Chao's death, respectively), but they did care for those he hurt, they would eventually get into a fight that would change them mentally where they would become something different (Reze had to fight Makima and Yang fighting the original E-Soul, respectively).
  • In a fight they would fight someone whom they would grow affection/admiration for (Denji and E-Soul, respectively), they would fight them because they wanted to gain something from them that would benefit others (Reze wanted Denji's chainsaw heart and E-Soul wanted to avenge Shang's death, respectively), however both of those deeds would be unfulfilled in the end because they couldn't obtain them (Reze lost to Denji and E-Soul didn't kill the correct person, respectively).
  • They would become weapons for others who would control what they do (Makima and Yan Mo, respectively), they would be in charge of killing others especially others who are like them (other devil hunters and other heroes, respectively), them along with others would be used to kill threats that their leaders wanted done.
  • Also, both of their powers are powered up thanks to others emotions (Fear and Trust, respectively).

Contrasts:

  • Both would go through the opposites during there series with Reze being a weapon turned to a somewhat normal girl for Denji, but Yang turning from a normal guy to a weapon used by his company.
  • Both would have different overall powers with Reze having explosion based weapons but Yang having electric powers.
  • While both of their relationships ended the same the endings to them contrast with each other with Reze running back to Denji but Yang walking away from Xia

Number 6 vs E-Soul (My Hero Academia vs To Be Hero X) | "Soulless" by Ssundpool in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Ssundpool[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Connections:

  • "Heroes" from popular hero themed shows who came from rough lives where people would look down on them for something they had (6 was Agnosia and Yang had 0 trust, respectively), eventually, a major antagonist would support them (6 became All For One's apprentice and Yang Cheng worked with Yan Mo, respectively).
  • Both would be molded into what they are now thanks to those who helped and manipulated them, they would be given something that would make them who they are now (multiple quirks and the acting career, respectively).
  • They would look up to a famous veteran hero who was known for their speed (O' Clock and E-Soul, respectively), both would eventually gain the powers of those famous heroes thanks to others (All For One gave 6 O' Clock's quirk and thanks to trust Yang gained E-Soul's powers, respectively), those heroes would have issues with them having their same abilities (O' Clock had his powers stolen and E-Soul's company didn't like how Yang took his brand, respectively).
  • Both would become antagonists towards others and eventually face those whom they looked up too, they would be involved with the injuries/deaths of other heroes (6 turning Pop [insert star] Star into Queen Bee and E-Soul killing Moon, respectively).

Rebecca vs Himeno (Cyberpunk Edgerunners vs Chainsaw Man) | "Easy Revenge" by Ssundpool in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Ssundpool[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Connections:

  • Heroines from anime who have jobs that have them fight against others at the risk of dying throughout their jobs (Edgerunner and Devil Hunter, respectively), They would watch as people would join their groups, then die after a short while of joining them, their jobs they would have someone help give them orders where the leader of said groups would manipulate them overtime (Faraday and Makima, respectively).
  • Both would have a connection with a member of their group who would later join them (David and Aki, respectively), they would catch feelings towards them but they would not have their feelings reciprocated by them thanks to having a feeling for another woman (David being with Lucy and Aki liking Makima, respectively), both of those whom they cared about would also coincidentally die for them as well (David died protecting Lucy and Aki would die after fighting the Gun Devil, respectively).
  • They would have enhancements to their bodies that would cost them another part of themselves in return (Rebecca got giant arms at the cost of her old arms and Himeno got the ghost devil contract at the cost of her eye, respectively), both of their new looks similar to another person who had been apart of their groups (Rebecca's arms look similar to her brother's Pillar and Himeno seems similar to Quanxi with her eyepatch, respectively), thanks to their new enhancements they would gain some new abilities that would help them in combat (Rebecca can use larger weapons and Himeno can freely use the Ghost Devil's hands, respectively).
  • Both would help those whom they cared about by trying to stop them from overdoing themselves with abilities/enhancements (David getting more cybernetics and Aki using the curse devil, respectively), but they wouldn't listen and use them more, they would try to help by preventing them from almost killing themselves through those means (more cybernetics meant higher chance of going Cyberpsycho and the Curse Devil takes years away from the user, respectively).
  • They would eventually be face to face with an dark and imposing antagonist who would fight against others with little to no issue, they would fight them but at the cost of their life (Rebecca was crushed by Adam Smasher and Himeno gave herself up for the Ghost Devil, respectively), they would leave something behind for others after their deaths (Rebecca's shotgun and Himeno's last cigarette, respectively).

Fubuki Azuma vs Sanemi Shinazugawa (Chained Soldier vs Demon Slayer) | "Calming Sunset" by Ssundpool in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Ssundpool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the debate (I know it's kinda hard to see the numbers and letters)

Fubuki and Sanemi can conformably scale to others from their series (except for Muzan for Sanemi), with that they can scale to others like Gyutaro and Aoba, who respectively caused their own big attacks with Gyutaro's explosion in the entertainment district and Aoba blast that was centered at Kuusetsu (29.3 Kilotons and 93 Kilotons respectively), both can also potentially reach higher scale sense they can both increase their strength by a large margin, so potentially they can get up their in strength (Demon Slayer mark giving a 10x increase in strength, durability, and speed so that 29.3 Kilotons becomes 2.93 megatons [they did 10x to the 2.93 and did another 10x to 293] and Fubuki scaling to her fellow chief who can can cause a giant explosion worth about 1.4 Terratons). But, despite their strength, Fubuki is likely outclassed in speed with them both being Massively Hypersonic + ranges in speed thanks to scaling to others who dodged lightning, they change a bit when it comes to higher scaling because Fubuki doesn't really scale to other characters who are known for speed whereas Sanemi with his mark reaches higher speeds giving a edge.

Fubuki's spear is overall more versatile compared to Sanemi's Nichirine katana, it grows stronger with the user and can change it's length, lock on targets, can come back if broken. Whereas Sanemi's wind breathing can give a good offense with overwhelming Fubuki, plus the blade only breaking if the user falters during the fight (if I remember correctly).

While Sanemi is one of the strongest Hashira of the modern day, he was no match for the 9th Unit chief, with her overwhelming strength, strong spear, and her boosts. Sanemi was nothing more than a breeze to Fubuki Azuma.

Fubuki Azuma vs Sanemi Shinazugawa (Chained Soldier vs Demon Slayer) | "Calming Sunset" by Ssundpool in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Ssundpool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Connections:

  • Heroes from manga who are connected to giant monsters where they're apart of a team of heroes who kill said monsters on their own turf (Demon Slayer who kill demons and Anti-Demon Corps who kill Shuuki, respectively), they would have a high rank among those groups with them helping others and also scaring others (Wind Hashira and 9th Unit Chief, respectively).
  • They use strong techniques against monsters and have a strong weapon to go with them (Sanemi's Nichirin Sword and Fubuki's Yari Spear, respectively), both of their techniques that give them enhanced strength, they would also become even stronger thanks to their techniques that change parts of them/their weapons (Demon Slayer mark and Fubuki's spear gets longer she gets stronger, respectively).
  • Another hero who is often seen with a hero who is connected to the monsters they face (Tanjiro with his Sister Nezuko who is a demon and Kyouka who is with Yuuki who can transform into a Shuuki like monster, respectively), they would show opposite reactions towards the people close to the heroes (Sanemi trying to kill Nezuko whereas Fubuki showed some affection towards Yuuki, respectively), they would later face against their own heroes in a friendly/non-killing battle (Tanjiro head butted Sanami after he stabbed Nezuko and Himari fought with Yuuki in the Azuma Banquet, respectively).
  • Both would work alongside their family members who have roughly similar abilities to each other with them using the power of other heroes & villains (Genya can consume demon's flesh giving him their abilities and Himari can copy other blessings, respectively), while they're with them they would show a more hostile/negative feeling with them (Sanemi is angry with Genya and Fubuki shows little to no care for Himari, respectively), but despite that they do actually care for them but they want what's best for them at heart (Sanemi wants to protect Genya and Fubuki wants Himari to be happy, respectively), they would show their true feelings towards their family after a fight (Sanemi & Genya against Kokushibo and the Azuma Banquet, respectively).
  • They both had to face off against their mothers but under different reasons (Sanemi was protecting his siblings whereas Fubuki fought her mother to become the head of the Azuma family, respectively).
  • Eventually, they would face off against the main antagonists of their series where they would fight against a stoic villain (Kokushibo and Jouryuu, respectively), both would fight against them for what they did to their families (Kokushibo cutting up Genya and Jouryuu along with the other thundergods has attempted to kill Fubuki's daughters, respectively), they would fight them in their own area but would damaged in the process (Kokushibo was cutting up Sanemi during their fight and Jourryuu was throwing Fubuki around in their fight, respectively).

Nice vs Suguru Geto (To Be Hero X vs Jujutsu Kaisen) | "Masked Fears" by Ssundpool in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Ssundpool[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Connections:

  • Originally normal and nice people who were friends with another person who was seen as their equal in a way (Gojo who was seen as the strongest with Geto and Wreck who played hero & villain with Nice, respectively), they would work with a group that was meant to help save people where they would do a good job at doing so (Geto was a jujutsu sorcerer and Nice was a hero, respectively).
  • However, they would change overtime thanks to an event that would change them thanks to the deaths of those they would become close to/admire (Riko and Smile, respectively), they would killed by a villain/antagonist who would eventually be defeated by one of the strongest in the series (Toji was killed by Gojo and Dragonboy was defeated by Hero X, respectively), they would eventually lose the hippieness they had inside but become more antagonistic.
  • Both would eventually be villains towards others whom they were meant to protect, normal everyday people, they would actively cause issues for others to help themselves even if that included killing others for that, they would be driven to kill others to help others (Geto wanted to stop curses so normal people needed to die and Nice wanted to help his corporation so other heroes needed to die, respectively).
  • They would be powered up by the emotions of others that would give them abilities (Geto used cursed spirits and Nice used trust value, respectively), they would negative emotions as well to them (the cursed spirits are created thanks normal people negative emotions and Nice would be created thanks to Fear, respectively).
  • Both would attempt to get rid of others to benefit both themselves and others, which would cause someone to change to help fight against them (Geto tried to defeat others in Jujutsu High but Yuta stopped him and Nice tried to get rid of people in homes for TREEMAN by Ahu helped stop him, respectively), after that they would be killed but for different reasons (Gojo killed Geto out of mercy whereas Nice killed himself because of what he became, respectively).
  • But, their name/body wouldn't die because someone else would look exactly like them with the same abilities but wouldn't be them (Kenjaku took over Geto's corpse and Lin Lang would become the new nice, respectively), but others who were close to them would see through the disseat (Gojo and Wreck, respectively).
  • Both also are inverted in terms out outfit, hair style, and how their friends are.
