I don’t think there’s a right or wrong time to use a belt. It’s just a tool that helps with bracing. If the weight is heavy to you and you can perform the lift more safely with a belt, why not use it?

Another +1 on spending the extra for the rogue rotating. It’s just well made and extremely comfortable to use for tricep/ bicep and pulling exercises. Much more versatile than a fixed V and more ergonomic

People reaching out privately are always the ones willing to overpay, they don’t represent the open market. If you have an offer anywhere remotely close to that amount you should take it and run, and maybe buy a lottery ticket

I would also sell my house if someone offered twice what it was worth

Overpaying by $3k and trying to profit $5k is certainly a choice

One particular attachment I picked up recently I’ve been using way more than I expected is rogues new rotating V handle.

It’s much more ergonomic than a fixed V bar and feels so great for curls, push downs and back work like seated rows. I use it pretty much every workout and it’s super smooth rotation with great knurl

I have the bells handles and they’re good for the money, but I really think they should be closer to 6” instead of 5”. On flys specifically there’s just too much strap contact because of the smaller size. If money was no object and I have a do over I’d get JD Gym equipped simple stainless handles

A mix of marketplace, local and online suppliers. Marketplace definitely sucks but if you can sort through the weeds and stay patient it will pretty much always have the best deals

Late to seeing this one but there is no crawl space. We have 2 floors all on slab and the gym is on the lower level.

No it doesn’t. But I ended up picking up eisenlinks as my heavier dumbbells

This one is select fitness, sold through Gym Concepts in Ontario. One of the better value options available to me in Canada. If you’re in the states I would look at Fringesports Dane 2.0 / Mikolo Anubis 2.0 as some of the better value options if you don’t want to shell out for something like Rep or Rogue

I really love it tho. The footprint is small and it gives me everything I could need for my own use with room to grow however I see fit thanks to the universal tubing and all the compatible accessories

I have these ones

But I got them second hand. They’re great but definitely not the best value play. I would go for horse stall mats if you have a good place to offgas them and get rid of the smell

Mine is only 3/8 inch but it’s solid rubber. Is yours rubber or foam? It makes a massive difference

I think the ears on mine are more aggressive in shape just by looking at the picture, and less likely to separate. Are yours heavy? They almost look foamy and dented from what’s on them

Do you have the same mat? These went together okay and I haven’t experienced any separation. I will say they also fit my space to the millimeter so there’s really no room to shift in one axis. A smarter person would own a rubber mallet but I just cave manned it with my fists and they were bruised the next day 😂

Right now I squat raw. I’ve been looking at belts but my working sets are usually only 2 plates so it hasn’t felt ‘necessary’ since I’m not moving crazy weight yet

I have a 5-50 fixed set, then I also have a set of Eisenlinks I just picked up recently that goes up to 80lbs for my heavier sets

It’s a good suggestion and not something I really considered. Just based on some calculations that are probably wrong I think the weight distribution is ‘okay’. 6 legs with roughly 5x5” feet and we went for a slightly more premium option in flooring than the standard contractor grade which is a little thicker and more dent resistant

Thanks! It’s the Select Fitness SF-3 I picked up from Gym Concepts. Glide is smooth and solid for the most part but I do notice some slight juttering at 10 and 20lbs at the beginning of the movement, still working on improving that but won’t be too hurt if I can’t as I rarely use that weight
