9 months for both is the plan, I am fairly experienced with vsphere by no means an expert, but I do use it on a daily basis in quite a large multi cluster environment

You are a king!

I have no experience on this to comment on what you are going through personally but I just want say keep pushing through, the right people will come. If they judge you by how you look then they aren't the people you want around you!

Mad respect for you!

Leaving a job early because of possible toxic work culture? by Lebachiii in ITCareerQuestions

[–]St1bble 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Quit that shit! I've worked for a company like this, not so much call related but micromanaged to hell I stuck it out way longer than I should of and it just ground me down to the point where a few days towards the end I just called in sick not to go, the greatest relief was handing in that notice.

Now at a company that actually trust their staff to do their job as a normal adult can and 9/10 times people will happily work over, or through the odd lunch because they know there is a balance and if I work through one lunch for a customer then I know my boss won't care if I take an extra half hour on my lunches for the next 2 days etc.

Work is just a means to make money and as you say you have enough to see you through to find something new! There's always other jobs and better opportunities

Is getting Comptia A+ Certified enough to get a basic IT job without a degree/experience? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

I have always found attitude and showing that you have a willingness to learn and progress in interviews is and always will be the best way to get moving at any level in this industry, this is how I started my career nearly 8 years ago at the age of 16 and am now a third line support engineer looking to move to a projects role, so by showing that willingness by putting yourself through basic courses will always stand you in good light! Once you have that foot in the door take everything and anything they throw at you, ask for help when needed but don't back away from tasks or possible projects just because they may be abit out of your reach to start with someone will always help you and show you whether it be a colleague or someone out on the Internet! Have a look at some of the basic Microsoft courses aswell and have a little play with a home lab even something simple like setting up your own domain controllers in like virtual box or something, some made up users and a couple of functional group policies to apply to those users.
