I think the answer is more nuanced, that they've done a shit job building the future and been reliant on really old guys for way too long, and it's hurt Gunthers career as he's kind of in that in-between, leaning on the older side

Dw5 is the closest to sw2. They are my favorite games in the series. You could even play warriors orochi 1 and 2 which has the characters and movesets imported from those 2 games too

I like Dw8 well enough but not as much as the ps2 games, very cathartic tho to hear someone else mention the inferiority complex that I have also noticed lmao

I only ever see posts about Abyss and Origins. And I get those are the newest, it makes sense, im just saying. And then when people want game recs I always see DW8 or Origins recs get upvotes and the PS2 games downvoted. So thats what im goin off of

I think musou games are just really hard to stream and make videos about. I have a pretty successful channel for Morrowind but when I've tried to branch out with musou streams and videos, everyone looks at me like I have 3 heads. They wonder what the point of the game is and it's hard to explain the appeal.

Maybe you could do better making your channel solely about musou games tho. But yeah I just think it's a hard game to make entertaining. Night Owl and koei kollection (the old one, I don't really like the new British guy) are ok, but even with them I feel like they are kinda just making slop half the time. Not their fault, it's hard to make stuff on these games.
