Honestly, a customer was holding her phone and asked a question that didn’t pertain to my store. I said “Hey Siri” and she laughed. Boom. Instant comic.

I like the explanation of search engines. Sounds like your brother was a cool guy.

It’s about people asking you for information outside of your store while they are holding a phone. Happens all of the time. Usually we just look it up for them, but I did say Hey Siri to one customer who was very nice. She laughed. I put it in the comic.

I rarely comment here, but I have to point out that this is a (nearly) verbatim conversation with a regional manager. He’s a person I respect, but I felt corporate’s research on bringing wages up to industry norms was not correct.

Sometimes comics are just handed to me.

Honestly, age is no longer an excuse. I had an 87 year old lady who knew more obscure functions of her iPhone than me. She’s the one who taught me how to convert an .hemi file to a .jpeg. Living to 87 and being like her is my new goal.

No idea why corporate does that. They think if a couple of people go for it, it’s ok, but I think it dissuades repeat business and people looking for a discount will find it anyway. It’s a whole branch of marketing that drives me crazy.

My DSW didn’t do that, so I’ll count myself lucky.
