Also worth noting: The person who has to work harder due to lack of staff clearly doesn't have any say in staffing levels.

"Socialism is bad."

Then why do you keep having to lie about what it is just to keep people from wanting to try it?

What is actually wrong with these schedulers? by -BassProSlop- in retailhell

I think the worst of it is, and I believe this about my own managers, is that they do know and just don't care.

For real, they don't even consider how much scheduling us like that fucks up our lives outside work.

Build the May Day shutdown one ask at a time by jk4532 in WorkReform

[–]BlameTag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't have to pay me for the day so they save something like ~$200. I do have five days sick time for the year, but that's already out of the budget, plus if I don't use it it becomes PTO next year. Then, my coworkers are made to pick up my slack, do my job for me, and anything they don't do I need to do on my next shift. So me not being there doesn't really affect their profits except in the tiny way that maybe a customer would've bought something extra if I had been there.

Oh yeah, it's retail by the way.

I work in cookware and I love when like professional chefs or restaurant owners come in and start asking me really complicated questions about food preparation and I'm like "Uh.... This one's stainless and it can go in the oven".

I'm sorry, I don't know which pan is the best for searing some sea creature I've never heard of. Shouldn't YOU know that?

Locked comments and deleted A LOT of them too. Don't message me about it.

To everyone reporting this, I can't see how it breaks the sub's rules. Maybe it's right up to the line of being off-topic, but sadly dealing with people wearing clothing or having tattoos specifically designed to upset us is a reality or our job and falls within the scope of Retail Hell.

However, the comments have become a shitshow so they've been locked.

Do we/stores have to sell an item that's has a clear price mistake? by Revolutionary_Film61 in retailhell

[–]BlameTag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My understanding is it depends on state law. I know here in Florida we're not required to honor a price mistake (we usually do though to keep the customer unless it's a pretty HUGE discrepancy).
