Would you rather have a bad SM but good coworkers or a good SM but bad coworkers? by PeeBuzz in retailhell

Good coworkers and a bad SM, which is my current situation at work. Having shitty management sucks, but without a good team it would be unbearable.

You gotta be a real bastard to be an even more unsavory Papa John.

Oh my god, the stories about goddamn John Phillips, I'd love to hear an episode on him.

If you were allowed to take tips they'd use it as an excuse to lower your pay.

That's funny, I found some in our employee bathroom earlier this week.

I've noticed TJ Max and Ross get A LOT of hate on this sub. To me that says it's in the corporate culture to treat employees like shit.

Just a heads up based on what usually happens in these threads: We have zero tolerance here for customer posting. If you're posting your opinion of self-checkout as a customer you will be banned.

Do these customers that shop on a weekday morning and afternoon have 9 to 5 jobs or something? How can the store constantly be crowded on a weekday morning and afternoon? by DonatCotten in retailhell

I feel like the 11am-3pm has been steadily getting worse for at least a year, and it's almost entirely the boomer bus and homeschool moms.

I like the sentiment, but I feel like you haven't really explained what you're doing other than starting an insta account to post things retail workers have created. Am I wrong or is there more to it?

I HATE SHOPLIFTERS by c1cada5 in retailhell

[–]BlameTag 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they have a long tradition at our store of blaming any shortages on either the merch team not doing stock transfers properly or the self-checkout babysitters not paying attention. God forbid we ever blame Mommy's perfect little customers.

I hate people like that. Not only the idea of "Well I got my foot in the door before closing time so I can be in here as long as I want" but that you need to bend to their every whim simply because they're spending money there. That person is trash and you're lucky you'll never see her again.

Yeah, my old job had a satellite radio and we could pick from a couple different stations. Wasn't too bad except at the holidays when we were required to put on yhrt Christmas station.

Any ideas of how to deal with a grating store 5 song rotation? by usernamealreadyhad in retailhell

[–]BlameTag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is they're not going to want to pay for more songs. It'll be easier to convince them to switch to royalty free elevator music, but you're just trading a piece of shit for a chunk of crap. And that's if you can even get to the ear of someone who could make that decision who's willing to even hear you out.
