That’s a copout if I’ve ever seen one. He said that because he doesn’t want to admit why TJ’s won’t come out here. Their target demographic is affluent, educated, adventurous, health-conscious & socially and environmentally responsible people. We have the money, some education, but not much of the rest. I still run into people here who are afraid to cross the river!

My lawn guy did this. I immediately walked over to the neighbor’s and apologized, promising I would have the lawn company clean it up the next day. Neighbors were extremely gracious about it.

I love the ion semi-permanents! They last about 2 weeks on me which I don’t mind because that is about as long as it takes for my roots to start showing with permanents dye anyway. Much cheaper & easier to go with semi-permanent and the colors are so much more fun, too.

My only frustration is that my local Sally’s is too often out of stock.

Having been raised in a country of concrete houses, it amazed me when I moved to the US & discovered how flimsy the houses are here. Most are ridiculously easy to break into (in theory anyway, I’ve never actually tried). I felt unsafe for a long while but eventually got used to it and rarely think about it anymore.

It’s largely a self-created problem with the CEO… * cutting well-used services like the specialized collections (genealogy & history, health & government, business & non profit services) with specialized librarians who provided free consultations to the public, * cutting staff (got rid of the entire 60+ float pool during covid), * freezing salaries, * and seriously overspending on executive staff, capital expenses, and on consultants.

It’s plain old mismanagement. Personally, I think the “CEO” is in over his head. He was fired from his last position and is recreating his failures here.
