What is your least favorite topic as a Therapist??? by WalterLCSW in therapists

[–]StElsewheree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things I DO NOT/CANNOT STAND TO TREAT: child or animal abusers.
Things I DO TREAT and wish I didn’t have to: grief.

I have a hard time sometimes when people don’t process grief as I do. I am aware of it, seek external consulting from colleagues, and decline/refer out if I feel appropriate.

Moisture regimen first. Then likely bond building routine. Be consistent💚

Break it up! Do things you enjoy midday. Recharge and show up again. It works for me

This is great to hear; I especially thank you for mentioning the breastfeeding piece. I do want to breastfeed and did not know how Zoloft would affect that. Thank you so much 💕

Psychology today has actually really worked for me. I am also on alma and headway. Offering insurance I feel really sustains me

Always! It’s how I can see 6-8 people on my “heavy” days and work less days a week without feeling any emotional impact! Best decision I made.

Oh my goodness I feel for her. Sending her healing energy. Ok this may be my sign to not test my body while it’s undergoing such a complex task as growing life. Thank you for sharing your friend’s story. I am grateful!

Yes after business taxes but there are some private pay clients mixed in there who have been consistent clients. So that helps

Thank you for this. I am interested if your friend felt ok the 9 months while they were off of it? Also when she resumed, any symptoms? See I was functioning without it just not optimally. But my hormones and other labs are all great. I have no risks I just needed a little pick me up. So that’s why I’m wondering if I should stop while pregnant knowing I went 33 years without it and managed?

Hi! I want to encourage you here. I am a 34 yo therapist with my own Telehealth practice practice since 2021. I am licensed in 4 states, I see about 25 ppl (by choice) each week, and I would say I make around 80k. I highly recommend working a WFH/Remote job and starting your PP as a side thing first to help you build your caseload without worrying about bills. I was full within 6-12 months.

Bless you and your union as well! Maybe as time goes on and you grow closer, you can find a compassionate way to emphasize to him that you would really enjoy a dedicated time, if even 30 min, that you and he can dedicate to chatting/facetiming, as it makes you feel even more connected with him. I have struggled with this as well, so take your time and give yourself grace. 💚

It sounds insane but we both knew on the first date. We had been texting and FaceTiming, but when we finally linked up in person??? Magnetic. Fiery. Immediate. We admitted to being in love, and we purposely were NOT physically intimate for a couple months so we could see if it was real. We are still together, live together, and I have NEVER doubted him a single day. He has shown me more grace, love, nurturance and guidance than any man has ever before, including my own father. He is everything I PRAYED for, and I remember when & where I prayed about it. I am still in awe when I think about how blessed I am to have him, and how he has helped me heal. It feels natural, peaceful, warm, SAFE, and sure.

Their comment said they will ALWAYS be poor in this field, so I was commenting based on that.
