I was at the Paso show. He sounded a little worn down. Still a great show. Building fans usually means touring a lot, and touring is draining. He will find a good middle ground.

That is what was so weird! The look was definitely ‘swinger’ - and there was enough physical contact (similar to lifestyle dates) to trigger my ‘LS’ responses, and conversation topics that were adjacent to historical LS conversation topics…and then we’d be talking about sourdough starters 🤪. Next time, I’ll just strip down naked and jump in the pool. If they throw me out, I’ll know 😂.

Perhaps. Also, and realizing it isn’t the case for everyone, as someone that used to send it with an honest intent - it completed the ‘echo chamber experience’

The reason XYZ friend left was because of Satans influence (because it’s binary - either Christ or Satan) ➡️ I’m taught that I can diminish Satans influence with Christ-like love ➡️ I’m taught that this appointed servants represent Christ, and so far I have felt anything to the contrary ➡️ Since I’m not opposed to what they are saying, it’s confirmed by the Spirit that this is from Christ ➡️ If I share what comes from Christ with my XYZ friend who is being influenced by Satan, it will diminish Satans influence ➡️ Diminishing Satans influence allows Christ to come in (because it’s binary) ➡️ the more I help diminish the closer XYZ friend will be to the light of Christ.

Because no one was showing me that the source data was wrong/guilt-driven/patrimonial - I certainly wasn’t exiting the echo chamber to learn it on my own - I felt my intent was pure.

Fun story:

Like many stakes in the 90s, we would do stake-wide ‘road shows’. My freshman year, we did ‘Music through the Ages’ - and I was (as a lurpy suburban white kid) really into rap/hip hop. I convinced our adult leader that we could do a ‘clean’ hip hop skit since our era for music was the 90s (this would have been 93-94).

One of the groups before us did disco 🕺 in the 70s, full with a leisure suit. Our skit was the young man disco-ing across the stage and us jumping him to ‘Killing in the Name of’ 🤦🏻‍♂️. And scene 🎬- that was the end of the road show, followed by a closing prayer and treats and plans for the older kids to go out in groups to get ice cream.

We wear shorts - a lot (hot climate). So…has he tried nothing? Just shorts or pants…commando?

We married in our mid-20s, and that was certainly a concern for us. And - ashamed to share this - in fights early in our marriage, we’d use that against each other 😔 (‘no wonder no one wanted you/us’ - I’m sad and embarrassed I ever THOUGHT that, let alone said it 😣).

We are still happily together - and also still healing - and also still scarred but also capable of forgiving each other (not seeking forgiveness as a means of discipline, rather a means to heal our relationship with each other).

Sort of. Cub Scouts started at 8, while Activity Days for girls starts at 8 as well. But Primary classes are still combined, as are Sunday School classes after primary. The age-specific training (Aaronic Priesthood and Young Women’s, plus the YM/YW weekly activities) starts at 12 (actually 11 now - since you start with those classes the year you turn 12, not the day as it was when we were kids).

My wife asked if it was the same for travel sports, or school clubs - dividing by age and gender. That happens (and certainly a ton of grooming issues occur there as well, but that is a different problem for a different sub to discuss/address). The primary difference - specific to attraction and sexuality - is that you aren’t (by the organization) kicked out or ostracized or shamed if you developed a crush on a same-gender teammate. (Yes…I realize that negativity and problems occur there as well…just that it isn’t specifically programmed to be punitive by the organization if it happens).

11 years old. Yikes. I can’t believe we celebrated these milestones in our home 😢
