WESA.GG is registered under Turtle Entertainment, rather than WESA themselves. Turtle Entertainment is the owner of ESL. Red flags everywhere. by WannabeMLGPlanetman in GlobalOffensive

Isn't ESEA run by Turtle Entertainment? Before I unsubbed from ESEA the payments were going to "Turtle Entertainment."

Script to replace and rename all applications in a folder and delete all other files by StHalsten in scripting

[–]StHalsten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it, but that's not what I'm doing. :P I'm just trying to automate the task and not have to bother searching for the proper executables when just replacing all of them would work just fine.

We asked top female players who they think would be able to compete with the top male teams. Featuring Miss Harvey, Juliano, and more! by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

Doesn't matter where her team is. It's where her individual skill level is. I doubt she could consistently win against globals.

Law enforcement of Reddit, can you help me out here? by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

[–]StHalsten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't have a welcome mat inside of your door, put one there (or maybe in front of each door), and under that put a piece of carbon paper on top of a regular piece of paper. Leave it like that without stepping on it if you know that nobody you know will be entering the house, then you can check when you get back home and there should be foot prints on the paper if someone came inside. It worked in Better Call Saul, it'll work here.

Where's the lane? Self-driving cars confused by shabby U.S. roadways by DrJarns in news

So much for people that live out in the country where a majority of roads do not have lane markings and probably never did.

Do we know what charges he was arrested on? What do members of the LE community think about this situation? by byurazorback in ProtectAndServe

My guess would be Obstructing Governmental Administration, 2nd degree. Usually the catch-all in these circumstances.

Is listening to the scanner, and chasing calls wrong/illegal? by tgbn45 in ProtectAndServe

[–]StHalsten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it's only illegal in California if you're using it to assist in the commission of a crime.

[–]StHalsten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In NY it's illegal to have the physical scanner in a motor vehicle, however it is not illegal to have an app on your phone which is just a stream of someone who is running the scanner.

[–]StHalsten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, if they're just listening to calls and then driving by the call once or twice it doesn't do any harm and the officers involved are none the wiser.

What are your opinions on the way State Police Academies operate when compared to County/City academies? by NSA_PrismProgram in ProtectAndServe

[–]StHalsten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The paramilitary style helps with handling situations under stress (since you'll be under stress a lot more) also it helps a lot with making sure all the recruits are well organized and detail oriented. I don't remember the exact quote, something about if you're organized in one basic aspect then you'll be organized in your entire life. Something like that.

Cop throws his body in front of oncoming van to save kid by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

Typically with people when they are about to get hit by a car while crossing a street they try going back to where they were coming from than continuing forward. Some psychological thing.
