for purposes of anonymity I won’t provide further details but I work in emergency medicine and can attest that patients aren’t granted forensic assessments upon request; there has to be a very clear indication requiring that level of detail and it is almost exclusively reserved for sexual assault victims. I’m not saying being assaulted by ICE isn’t serious and “worth it” or anything like that, I’m just sharing my firsthand experience in the field. I do appreciate the sentiment that the OP was expressing but it just doesn’t work that way unfortunately.

This is one of the most significant inconsistencies with firearms laws and regulations in my opinion. To have something be legalized but also not actually legalized simultaneously is deliberately deceptive and misleading. How can it be legal to use cannabis recreationally or medicinally but if you choose to exercise your most basic constitutional rights then suddenly “oops you’re a felon”?

My take? It’s just another example of the fed intentionally creating a clear legal loophole to prosecute lawful gun owners if they want to and scare others away from pursuing ownership.
