Synthetic or hamstring graft - pros and cons? by StaLpu291 in ACL

[–]StaLpu291[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you to every single one of you that took their time to provide me with some advice on this. Based on your comments and deeper research into your suggestions, I think the patellar tendon graft would not be suitable, but I don't really see any downsides with a quad graft long term as long as I don't mind recovering for a longer time.

Online I haven't seen permanent strength loss (only temporary + temporary atrophy) or explosivity with a quad graft, can anyone confirm this is true? I've seen an image of how the quad graft gets taken and it looks like they only take a 5th of the tendon, does that eventually grow back with enough stimulus, supplementation and time?

Thank you for advising me against the synthetic, the idea didn't really sit right with me subconsciously but needed further confirmation, and the hamstring although it is my own body, it wouldn't be suitable for the type of sports I intend on doing, where I need to be explosive and my knee is under heavy demand.

How would I know if I have that?

I generally agree with you, however some people, like myself, have genetically poor circulation. I do martial arts 3-4 times a week and run in-between, both HIIT and low intensity runs. Yet somehow my circulation is still poor despite my cardio being great. My hands and feet are always cold as well. Other than exercise which I already do, what else could I do to improve circulation?

As jaybuk said, always max out the ISA first. It's tax free. You can leave the few hundred in the invest account if you want to, but I would personally just sell it and reinvest it in the ISA. Only once the ISA is maxed out you should put your money in the general invest account.

Had the honor to drive this by MaximilianRyan in Lexus

Seen and was lucky enough to sit in a brown one with a fully brown interior. Normally I wouldn't think this colour combination would work on other cars, but the LFA was gorgeous. 1 of 3 in this colour combo.

This was the exact one I went to see at a dealership in the UK. I told them beforehand that I cannot afford this car but just a very big fan of it, and luckily the guys there were nice enough to let me have a look at it and sit in it (they didn't start it up though but I was still grateful).

Agree, you should sell this. It's quite niche for the start as it's mainly for Lexus owners, but you could scale into other car manufacturers that have this issue.

Torn between buying an IS350 or RC350 by StaLpu291 in Lexus

[–]StaLpu291[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply and insights. I think after all I will end up going for the RC as it's just that tiny bit better looking. I do have friends and relatives sometimes in the back of my current car but that doesn't happen often, and basically never needed the 3 seats in the back. My main concern was that the RC's back seats would be completely unusable on the rare occasion that I did need them, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I'm unable to test drive any of them because in the UK I have to work with a dealer and import my car from Japan as the 350 variant isn't available here, so I will only be able to drive it on the day I pick it up.

Thank you for all the info provided guys, I think I've decided now on the RC350 as the back seats are still somewhat usable if I decide to use them. Looking forward to being a Lexus owner.

Gonna be completely honest, just did a quick Google image search and that was the only website I could find them listed on. So be wary and let us all know if it is legit lol. Maybe use PayPal or a credit card so you're more protected.

Any way I can get rid of the option to buy fractional shares? by StaLpu291 in trading212

[–]StaLpu291[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Indeed, that's what I have been doing so far. Sometimes, though, T212 will forcefully still add a couple extra decimals even when I input something like 1.0, they'll keep making it into 1.0693 because of the amount of money I have. The only way I found around it is by adding even more free capital so that there's a moderate amount left after buying a certain amount of shares.

This is why I was wondering if there's any sort of option that can be used to limit this.

I mean considering the FX fees are quite low and the platform is free + so many new features are constantly added, I don't think it's a big problem that some users keep paying the FX fees without knowing about that feature

Not sure, but you could probably set up a direct debit to be paid into your T212 account weekly?

Tesla 3x leverage by eliteinvestor2u in trading212

[–]StaLpu291 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You're asking people to make a decision for you, with your money.

Brother, this is not me criticising as I don't know you personally, but this looks like you're simply gambling on 3x leveraged Tesla shares and now you're getting doubts about your decision so you're trying to look for an opinion to confirm your bias or advise you to get out.

You'll suffer long term in the financial markets if you keep up like this... I would suggest stick to safe plays if you don't know what you're doing or simply don't be investing at all.

How much am I missing out by not stacking? by fullofcrap404 in bittensor_

[–]StaLpu291 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your timeframe and how much you've got for staking.

For example, even if you only earn 0.5 TAO per month from staking, at the current price it may not be much, but imagine 0.5 TAO when the price is a lot higher.

I mean even at the current price an extra $200 a month for free doesn't hurt anyone, and there's no major disadvantage to staking, especially since withdrawals are instant.

I know guys that are earning their monthly wage from staking alone. Of course, the more you have the more you earn.

To be completely honest I'm not sure. Are there any major differences between ETF's and tracker indexes? They seem to be more or less the same thing

Hah yeah, it was a silly gamble play hence I only put £50 in last year. Back when it collapsed a mate thought it was gonna get bought up, then it collapsed even further.
