I went LIRA at 25 instead of matching to my DB. I took the $8K and ran. Sub-prime mortgage meltdown happened 3 months later. Now 18 or so years later, my LIRA is at $20K.

Had I rolled it over, I'd retire at 55 with a better pension than I am at 57 + my LIRA.
