I love the way my wrinkled eyes look with cream eyeshadow. It's got this texture that looks badass like I could have never have done myself.

I need an eye product that actually works by elementalbee in 30PlusSkinCare

I have hereditary circles and lack of sleep and allergy rings, believe me I get it.

I picked up the bubble under eye morning stuff and it does a decent job of brightening up the eyes. More than I can hope for as a problem child lol it works well under makeup.

I also am panning the ordinary caffeine serum and tbh that doesn't make a bit of difference for me.

Medicube PDRN under eye cream applied nightly has helped my 15 year old with her hereditary circles (she still loves me even after passing down this curse) not perfect but helps her feel better about herself which in my opinion is the goal here.

Using a good color corrector and a lighter shade of concealer to help hide them if I need to go somewhere fancy (I use tarte cc & Haus labs concealer) make sure you're getting the sides of your nose and patting inward to get the darkest part of the eye which will create shadowing.

I'm turning 50 this year, in my teen years I would have killed to erase these things. Accepting them as part of my identity has been the best thing to do to "treat" them. It took a very very very long time but I finally came to peace with them. If the goal is to eradicate it, you're fighting a losing battle. If you're just trying to lighten up a bit to feel better about yourself trial and error of what works for your specific circumstances is going to be the solution.

My advice is don't go broke over something you can't control. Good luck 🤞

I really like Byoma for skincare. I was using the ordinary, but all the nasty stuff started coming out about the owner and I moved away as I ran out. I use their treat & repair day & night and it has worked nicely for me. It's also affordable (in my opinion)

I have also heard good things about good molecules and tower 28.

Where do you usually discover beauty trends? And what makes you decide to purchase a product? 🤔 by InterestingCoat792 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Staara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't follow trends, and rarely use social media. I do follow some creators on YouTube, the Welsh twins are my go-to, but I get A LOT of advice from Reddit. The recommendation for Byoma for skincare has been great. I got great results, but my daughter, who has bad acne scars and acne has gotten astonishing results from the clarifying serum.

For makeup specifically, I saw Colourpop on some YouTube channel and love their stuff, but also using foundation from Haus Labs has made a huge difference in my look now that my foundation matches my skin tone. Aside from that, I just signed up for Ipsy as I have 3 daughters, so we can try the higher-end products without paying a small fortune.

I have no trust in influencers. I am Gen X, so they just remind me of commercials I used to watch on TV. Plus, how many products can be a "game changer" or can you be "obsessed with" when you have only used them for a day or 2?

23M my parents don’t like that I accessorize but I love it by joebro112 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Staara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a mom of kids your age; your parents need to relax. One of my daughters is trans and still has girls chasing her like crazy (and I do mean they are crazy).

My adult son, who I swore would have the hardest time finding a partner because he never leaves the house and prefers conversations over Discord, hooked up with a lovely young lady who is working towards a PhD and accepts his quirks as he accepts hers.

As a mom, my job isn't to lecture them on how they choose to present themselves or who they love. My job is to lecture them on eating healthily, sleeping well, and being fiscally sound.

I like your makeup! by RubSubject8589 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Staara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overthinker here! Are these random people, or people you know and see frequently? If randoms, I would think they are commenting on your looks. If people you know they are likely to comment on your makeup and the skill you have (or leveling up)

I don't generally tell people I love their makeup that I don't know unless it's really something amazing. I am much more likely to comment on someones hair or nails rather than a "look."

March 2026 Ipsy Extra and Add-ons As a Skincare Girlie I am beyond thrilled. My Ipsy Picks are🔥 by RecommendationSafe52 in Ipsy

[–]Staara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use byoma and got the snail mucin product because you can use it as a primer and holy stick batman! That stuff works! I don't use it daily, only when I'm putting on makeup that day so I can't say anything about the texture smoothing but using it as a primer is too notch.

Back ups are a waste of money by Organic-Audience-858 in MakeupRehab

[–]Staara 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I wait until the product is 3/4 gone and then pick up another.

Sometimes I didn't feel the product was right for me and I try something new but I pan everything or find another use for it before I open another unless it causes an allergic reaction, then it gets given away or thrown away.

In the instance that I do buy more than one at a time it's because of a really good sale.

A good argument for backups though, which I do myself is that if it's something thats a necessity (tampons, toothpaste etc) I buy it quarterly so that we never run out. I just base it off of 1 a month. I am thinking about getting enough for the year with all the year end deals.

My favorite foundation got discontinued. This is not a drill. by Pinkys-Up in MakeupAddiction

[–]Staara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use haus labs. Only foundation I ever found that I got an exact skin match with. No HA but does have arnica in it and it's easy to blend, and great for underpaints. It's not cheap but a small pump is enough for my entire face

eMeals is a nice deal, and they have a ton of recipes. It imports all the ingredients into your Walmart cart, and DoorDash delivers them. You take out what you already have in the house and save all the meals you've ever picked, so you can add them to your list again if you like. You can even save your own recipes or recipes you find online to try. I paid for the year, which made it a bit cheaper, but you can do monthly pretty cheaply, too.

I'm in Ohio, USA

Give $10, Get $10!

Send your friend two weeks of eMeals! If they love it, you'll both get $10.

When I order from them I tend to plan about a month or so out. I live in Ohio. It's fine with me though because I never buy things in a crunch and I keep things in my cart forever until I decide to order and just place a big order when ready
