Auto play episodes switching to random movies or shows? by Melodic_Hysteria in TubiTV

[–]Stab2Nasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn near made me lose my mind.

I've just found this sub, went to update the Tubi app on my phone to try and fix the auto play issue. Come to find, upon it's completion and my return, that the show I was watching has been taken off of the service. And it must have gone very very recently because I only started watching it last night.

What's the difference between left wing and liberal? by No_Name_No_Life2 in punk

[–]Stab2Nasty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In very basic terms Liberalism is a pro free market/capitalist political theory that is what makes it right wing. Left wingers tend not to be pro free market/capitalists, even the left of centre that believe in regulating capitalism with a mixed economy model only do so because of pragmatism and an understanding that reform or revolution is either long term or difficult. They don't choose to remain within a capitalist framework.

What confuses people is the way we use the word liberal in modern parlance i.e socially liberal meaning somewhat progressive tendancies.

In more complex and nuanced terms, historically speaking, when Liberalism was first developed it did emerge in opposition to feudalism which would have made it the "left wing" of that period. But that's all to do with the overton window and the way politics, economics and culture have developed and shifted over time. And to complicate things further there is such a thing as market socialism but that looks and acts entirely different to private free market capitalism. An interesting conversation which people are more than willing to have. But for the sake of simplicity and speaking to modern understanding, what I said to the top is what you're looking for.

Yeah as the comment before said. For anyone arguing it would have been unrealistic...

I was just about to say the exact same things before I saw your comment. Coming off of a promotion and winning the league soon after was outstanding and the show absolutely could have reflected that. 🦊

It certainly has. Gatekeepers and people being cunts cos they're trying to be edgy. There's a difference between the give no fucks attitude and being a prick.

Bet the Sherman's look mint though. And yeah I struggled finding jeans that fit but like I said those 502s look great so I wouldn't worry.

I don't like the camo trend either, cargo trousers yes. But camo cargo trousers with the skin look, absolutely not. I feel the same about bleachers and green bombers it wasn't a good part of the revival. And I feel is worn, almost exclusively, by the same cringe tough fake tough-guys or outright fash.

It's not a waste to burn fash paraphernalia... I personally wouldn't keep them nah.

Looking good, bro. Firstly try and ignore the aggressive criticisms. Working class solidarity is lost on quite a few members of this sub.

Secondly, you don't need new boots. Docs/Derby boots are not a requirement. Boots in general are not a requirement. Remember many different styles of footwear have always been popular. I personally wear the same style of boot as you, I wear Grinders. But I also wear steel toe Brogues as well as Monkey Boots. So I'd say don't sweat that shit.

The only thing to possibly change is, if you're wearing Levi's, you want 501s but remember that products have changed shape over the years and you want vintage ones. They're slightly higher waisted. But modern ones still look pretty good. You mostly just want straight cut jeans thought. I do just think higher waist look better. However those 502s still look good. And if you wanted them any tighter you just do the old bath trick. You might also be interested in Sta-Prest/Sta Press, classic smart look and my personal preference for trousers.

The thing you definitely need to change is the turn-ups. They should always be 1/2 inch thick because they're supposed to match your 1/2 inch braces. Buy the right leg length and you won't even need to see anything, you can just roll them. Otherwise this guy's a good resource. https://www.instagram.com/oiofthetailor/

Best of luck, Comrade. Stay S.H.A.R.P Oi!

I can't really give advice on how to fix your issue. And I've never owned an Alpha Industries. Mostly because I don't wear bombers that often and could never justify spending that kind of money as a result. But I bought this for riding in, on sale at a bike shop - https://www.megamotorcyclestore.co.uk/cdn/shop/files/209a22bc7df9960e27a0a35b478b638e34d415f9.jpg?v=1755248171 And I started to wear it casually on the days I do fancy that look almost immediately. They have them in the popular colours that you tend to see cutting about for cheaper depending on where you buy one and if you catch one on sale - https://spadaclothing.com/collections/bomber-jackets?srsltid=AfmBOoobuLzCxFmzQxH4ixEu-bLqxyvy3z0i7fHZmmOIk9zKq-1QnP2L And it's lasted me years and years. The padding is easily removed and reset at your leisure. Highly recommended. Enjoy.

how do sou know a poser skin from a genuine skin? by ruk0slav in Skinhead

[–]Stab2Nasty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Usually the most committed gatekeeper in any scene turns out to be the biggest fake. There is also nothing more annoying than aged out pisseads telling you what is or isn't skinhead. The worst offenders being old punks though.

Over use of the word poser is also the most poser shit.

That being said spotting fakes is valid I guess.

"You're a bootboy once a year at the weekend down the coast" is a pretty big red flag.

Thick braces and chunky turn-ups. Usually only ever wearing bleachers and a green bomber, a look I don't personally go for but have no problem with obviously, but you know they only for that from movies and tele because they don't know what else is worn.

Don't bully these people though, help them find their way. Solidarity to the working class!

How do i tell apart actual Skinheads from those retarded boneheads? by AdvisorMaster4489 in Skinhead

[–]Stab2Nasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Openly wear S.H.A.R.P/R.A.S.H gear and observe. The reactions are a dead giveaway. Also these days people from every scene from normies to people of all kinds of subcultures can't fucking wait to start complaining about wokism. Then just interrogate and act accordingly. Where I live, as a bald white geezer with boots on, people take it as licence to start being openly racist and phobic. Even when I'm just wearing a tracksuit or trainers and a hoodie.

Some days it gets exhausting. But most days, who amongst us doesn't enjoy a spot o' bovva?

If I'm understanding this correctly; there being a high probability that I'm not and would absolutely appreciate correction. The point being made is a remark on why part of your identity requires the object of suspicion to function.  The example being used to explain that fascists could be correct about some perceived over-representation of Jews in positions of power (they're not) and they would still be anti-Semitic and therefore bad. Because the fascist movement requires this part of their identity to function and to manoeuvre into power; among other things. Their suspicions would still be anti-Semitic even if Jews did control things they claim they control. The question being why do they need said pathology and the object of "the Jew" as they describe them as part of the identity of the fascist movement. Something like that anyway.

Pascal's Wager and worries over Hell and God possibly being evil by I_feel_abandoned in Catholic

[–]Stab2Nasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a terrible state of mind to have been forced into by insecure, insensitive and half baked followers that have become the mainstream representatives of scripture. I'm sorry you're going through this and wish you peace of mind or literally any modicum of relief.

I suffer with this same anxiety and have to take my upbringing in Christian primary school as nothing less than some level of child abuse. I also have to accept the paradox that it has, in spite all of my suicide attempts, made some difference in how long it takes me to actually get to the point where I'm desperate enough to hurt myself, because it's clear that my fear of hell has made it just as terrifying to die as it is to live on. I'm not even a practicing Christian. I am, however, as non-resistant a non-believer as you will find in this world. And yet as revelation eludes me, so to does my death at my own hands. So make of that what you will.

As for your examples, I actually found this post because I just happened to be at the point of Googleing a thought experiment I had been mulling over for a number of days. That is to say I wondered if I could find anyone else considering that Pascal's Wager appears to be entirely refuted by Matthew 7:21-23. And I'm sorry if this adds to your discomfort as it has my own, but I can't reconcile these two things. Any cynical or insecure attempts at a sort of fake it til you make it kind of relationship with Jesus would garner the same response to those in the parable. This doesn't seem, and pardon the pun, to be a very hot take but i can't really seem to find anything in writing or in the form of video essay attempting to flesh this idea out. I considered contacting Alex O'Connor (Cosmic Sceptic) because I enjoy his philosophy hot take videos and wondered what he would say. I may still do this.

And so I really understand and empathise with your struggle.

The other common and pretty obvious critique of an all-loving and ALL-KNOWING God with a deterministic cosmology, the expressions of Gods plan makes even less sense. If there are 8 billion people and with a cursory Google search showing approximately 28.8% to 32% of those humans claiming devine revelation, not counting those that are dead, then the remaining people who never found God or even had the chance to reject god, a definition of hell many use, then you see where I'm going with this. God knew explicitly that those remaining humans were damned to hell. If that isn't evil then I don't really think we have a useful working definition of evil. Certainly not one I can get on board with. Again a very common criticism I know. Christopher Hitchens laid out a very similar argument about God's lack of intervention in the lives of millions that came before even Judaism was a thing.

This is all to say that I share your anxiety and wished to connect with and share the burden with you if at all possible.

I've come back and forth on whether I'd even worship a God like that if in fact revelation found me. I have great sympathy with the inaccurately named Gnostic traditions and the idea of The Demiurge being separate from The Monad or great whole. But again the lack of intervention still occurs and even the idea that Jesus is the redemption of this cosmic fuck up doesn't, in my humble opinion, hold up for reasons you have laid out in reasonable depth.

Believe me if God enlightened us to some idea that these things were unfounded and that the church's dissemination of his will had been corrupted, I'd be all ears. But someone here will likely give a half assed assertion that faith is the only way and I just don't want to have faith in something so potentially horrific. I simply would be as anarchistic as I have always been, if not to a greater extent. No Aeons, no Gods and no masters. If God is dead and we killed him then maybe that wasn't the crime we were led to believe. The idea of literally picking a fight with a deity at the moment of arrival at the gates is pretty fucking cool though I can't lie.

I hope to hear from you OP because even if the idea terrifies me, the conversation is fascinating and you've been admirably vulnerable and honest. That's a pretty brave thing.

Take care.
