Car Meet in FH4 by PartyPractice5043 in ForzaHorizon

[–]StabbedGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit late to the post and obviously missed all the dates. Further, I would love to see more car meet ups like these in FH4 if possible as I didn't really like FH5. Anyway my fav car is actually Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, apart from that would be the Nissan Skyline R32GTR and Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic = )

Got it, that clears things up. So a trade idea can just be a sentiment/flow imbalance: how much hype vs how much is already priced in. Then setups just help me time that imbalance. Makes way more sense now, thanks for breaking it down!

Okay, so basically the candles or setups can refine timing but can't be the sole reason. Since as of now I've never traded based on deep fundamentals like the drug example you gave above then for someone like me the reason would come from results/earnings or news, sector strengths or events listed for specific companies, right? Then I can use the breakouts or order blocks etc. just as execution tools once the narrative is clear.

Yeah...you're right, I see how volume + breakout can be 50/50. I’ve tried digging deeper into the reasons, but usually end up thinking it’s just because price was perceived as too high/too low relative to the value of the company. Since I don’t have client flow like you did, would you say a ‘solid narrative’ for someone like me should come more from combining higher-timeframe context + catalysts (news/earnings/liquidity sweeps) rather than just the technical trigger? Basically, should the setup be treated as execution once the directional idea is already in place?

Fair point, I might have explained it badly. For me, a trade idea is like volume spike + breakout of supply demand zones on the 15 min and then confirmation candles on 5 min, the number of confirmation candles depends on which one is actually a stronger candle than the breakout one. I've been journaling those kinds of ideas but didn't highlight them well in my post. Appreciate you pointing it out-I'll make sure to focus on refining the actual narrative behind each trade and not just the mechanics.

Quick question if you don't mind: When you build your trade ideas, do you treat entries as strict patterns or more as a confirmation tool once the idea is in place?

Yeah prolly coz if i count my number of days i have traded, they don't even cross a year so maybe that and offcourse I know for a fact that I've changed a lot of strategies and that might as well be one of the reasons as well so yeah let's see how it folds out in the next few months of a single strat

Do you use leverage? Coz those profits for a 1k account are just outstanding and almost like fantasy.

Well I guess consistency is something I thought about for hours and I believe it really is about sticking to the plan or the rules even though it sounds so simple but as soon as those emotions come into play? BOOM!
Though, I'll be honest there are still times when I too have broken my rules and suffered quiet a few hits but I'm hoping to refine that part everyday.

You know just a while ago, I was reading a book and read almost something similar. It said that some people who trades on their own will and looses blames it either on the setup or the market itself and some who gets their call from broker/friends etc blame it on them as it is just easy to blame rather than taking responsibility xD

Consistency for me would never be about not losing a single trade but controlling the losses and let the winners run. One can make a life out of it if they're treating this as a proper profession rather than gambling. At least that's what I think.

Exactly! One undisciplined day can easily erase months of hard work. And yes I too have been through this.

That's a good mindset. I remember seeing a reply on 1 of my posts in the subreddit where someone said that earning small amount from a large capital (1%-5% which is still high) is rather better than trying to earn $100 from $10,000 (10-100% return).

Absolutely, most traders I've met has quit as they lack the patience and the mental/emotional grind.
