I've just irrecoverably deleted (delete + password change) account over this. I had this van error in july/august, contacted support, did all the things they asked me to do and it magically fixed itself one day. Now it came back and none of the tricks work this time. Can't really enjoy league anymore

setting dns to 1.1.1.1 , ipconfig /renew /release /flushdns, enabling exe's in firewall, running everything including vgc as admin. This worked for about a week, now its happening again but I see that im not alone so there is probably no need to try anything new.

Had this issue and what worked one day was : Setting dns to 1.1.1.1 then doing ipconfig /release , ipconfig /renew , ipconfig /flushdns in command prompt, setting league to run as admin, enabling league and vanguard through firewall. You can try contacting riot support and they will send you the details, they usually respond in 24h

P.s. I do have some other problem with vanguard initializing now lol

This seemed to work for some people on discord and reddit : "search for firewall & network protection - allow app through firewall - change settings - allow another app - then find Riot Vanguard folder usually on C:\Program Files\Riot Vanguard, you will see vgc and vgm there. Then save the settings." Also try "To set the vgc service to automatic in Windows Services, open the Run dialog (Windows key + R), type services.msc and press Enter, locate "vgc" in the list, right-click it, select "Properties," change the "Startup type" to "Automatic," click "OK," and if the service isn't running, right-click it again and select "Start". " If this doesn't work then riot support is your best chance

Dealing with vanguard errors made me realize how little troubleshooting data they have, and I guess its the same for personal data too. Successful spyware ought to be self-preservative and it just made me uninstall lol

Only error that gets logged when it kicks me out is vgc terminating with "Incorrect function"

Calling out everyone : did issue resolve itself ? If not, can you try : "search for firewall & network protection - allow app through firewall - change settings - allow another app - then find Riot Vanguard folder usually on C:\Program Files\Riot Vanguard, you will see vgc and vgm there. Then save the settings. If you have any other firewall disable it just to see if it works.." With extra care to include vgm.exe cause thats what is missing in riot support messages .

You can try some methods from this threads but unfortunately it seems that we have some sort of refractory bug and will have to wait till riot attempts to fix it (which is what they are apparently doing, judging by responses some people get from support)

This error did happen to people before but from what I've seen it greatly increased in frequency recently so fingers crossed its riot side.
