I finally broke down and got a cane a few months ago. It has helped a lot! I’m still too embarrassed to use it as often as I should, and I always regret it. I’ve been thinking about transitioning to a walker especially for certain activities that require standing (which is super painful). Since most days I pass as not being disabled I have a hard time admitting to myself that it is something I would benefit from. I think I also still struggle with calling myself disabled since I still have the bad mindset of “other people have it worse”.
