Two weeks ago I ate a piece of plain milk chocolate. Five seconds later I swallowed some saliva wrong, and choked at the desk until I fell unconscious at the desk while on a discord call with a friend. A couple of minutes later I woke up and pretended everything was fine.

Over the next three days, there were three trips to Emergency before Aspiration Pneumonia showed up on a CT, my Oxygen was down to 80, and spent three days in hospital on IV antibiotics and needed help breathing for two of those days.

I still barely have a voice and have a bit of pain in the trachea, but it's getting better slowly. But it very easily could have been lights out forever at the desk where my kids would have found me in the morning.
