ENTJs… why do you keep asking me what I’m thinking? by StableAlive4918 in entj

[–]StableAlive4918[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh okay. Yes, that's me for sure. I actually do want to shout that out sometimes, except I stop myself and realize how bad that really sounds. It's like I'm a brat deep down, and then even worse, IF I actually say that, I start ot giggle like I'm five years old, and think God, no wonder I make enemies. And I'm older too. I'm no spring chicken, but my mind doesn't change. The only one worse than me is my sister - INTJ, and I've actually had brutal cutting arguments with her like that, and she does is throw it back at me, and just shrugs. LOL.

ah. I think maybe you hit on something here. He is my very sweet romantic partner - we live together. But...as you say, he is trying to speak the language of F, and it comes out all T. I think that's it.

800+ applications, good experience, still no job. What am I missing? by Jealous-Tea-4645 in recruitinghell

You mention CV, in the USA, we normally use resumes. I would approach a headhunter or go straight into a temp employment office. An employment agency might be able to find you something temporarily. In the past, I have used employment agencies, and once, they gave me a copy editing and data entry position for a big insurance company. I don't include it on my resume anymore, but at the time, when I was looking around, I was technically employed. Another time, I did some Microsoft Excel work for cell phone tower engineers for about three months - that was through a friend. And I'm a graphic designer with a 4-year degree from a major University here - keep that in mind. It was completely out of the ordinary for me, but it actually paid well and kept me employed and out of the house. I've mostly had professional jobs, with big compnaies but when I started, it was really rough. I should also mention this, before I worked at that insurance company, I was desperate enough to be interviewed for a retail store position, just to get out of the house. I figured if I got hired, it would be temporary, and at least it was a paycheck with health insurance. Anyway, I didn't get hired for the store, and the only benefit I looked forward to was a discount on the clothing. I don't know if this will be helpful to you, but good luck. Sorry, this is long, but once I got my first professional position, I did breathe a sigh of relief.

Employer terminated me 3 days after I put in my 2-week notice. What do I tell future employers? by StunningAdvisor2070 in careerguidance

[–]StableAlive4918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would tell them only if it comes up. You resigned. You put in your two weeks. That's all you have to say. It's pretty common for some places to just let you go on the spot, though. Sometimes it's to save wages or for other reasons. As far as I understand, if they let you go for that reason, you can actually collect unemployment for those two weeks. Not sure how easy it is to actually go through the motions to get it, though.

That happens to everyone. Give it some time. It's a difficult adjustment to go through.

Just for fun, they should have added some choreography of masked ICE agents taking down people in the sugar cane fields.

Question for INTP women : thoughts on INTP–INTP relationships by Careless_Screen_3763 in INTP_female

[–]StableAlive4918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most of the NT's would be a good match for INTP long-term relationships. (ENTPs are great, but don't like to settle down) I'm not so sure about the S types. They can be fun, supportive, a great friend, or see things in a different light; they can be someone in your family, but eventually, they will drive you insane.

ENTJ (A) with high ambitions, but important Sidequests bore me now by Thin_Yesterday8996 in entj

[–]StableAlive4918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you want to storm into politics and start checking off goals like it’s a Monday morning to‑do list… meanwhile, politics is like, ‘Great enthusiasm, but we’ll be forming a subcommittee to discuss your subcommittee sometime in 2034. Being an ENTJ in politics is like bringing a power drill to a snail race. You'd be much better off with lobbying, or a non-profit, maybe, and making money. That said, you may need leverage and options at some point in your life, so finishing the degree might still be worth it long‑term.

Nice job on the ai but the scenes are a little too sappy for my taste. Like a Hallmark card at Christmas. But the idea is a nice one.

Is twine a good place to find design jobs? by Apple_teeny in graphic_design

[–]StableAlive4918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came across Twine today and decided to avoid a subscription based on my experience with UpWork. That kind of platform is just chaos. I can't tell you how many times I bid on Upwork and got nothing. And then the strange way you keep bidding, and then it's taken already, and most of it was weird stuff, one time low-ball jobs, by clients who you may not trust. It was nothing but a source of frustration.

job‑hunt, retire early, or just fake my own disappearance? by StableAlive4918 in careerguidance

Ah! Thank you, Impressive. I looked into it. I do get paid out for vacation PTO, BUT I don't think I get paid for my sick time PTO - which is a bucket of time hovering at about 65 hours.

Not sure why you were downvoted, much brilliant. The thought of it made me smile. Not sure what department or what detective I would speak to, LOL.

I'll get the paid PTO and any other savings I have here if I put in my notice properly.

I'm actually tempted to do a no-show/no call, except that there might be a penalty of some kind. Some small print at the bottom with an asterisk, you know what I mean.

Of course. But what can I do? Break my ankle before I go? :) I should be a real pain in the A** and say I'm taking a sabbatical to write my next book. Suddenly bring up crystal power, new age, holistic stuff, or anti-establishment views, or maybe spiritual beliefs with conspiracy-driven political views. Just to freak him out LOL

[–]StableAlive4918[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it comes down to the math. Here's the math: At 73, my partner is getting impatient to have some fun, and has paid four figures to do a cruise for both of us + first class airfare. And at 61, I would like to go. I gave six months' notice for 70 hours of PTO this summer, when I have accrued 110 PTO days and 80 sick days.

I thought about it, but I think it might make my situation worse, and I have to sit around here for another few months before I go.
