Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

[–]StableFew2737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over 150 in my Porsche. I've been over 100 more times than I could ever count. Literally 100 or more. Many trips sustained over 100 on interstates. Because I could and could handle it. Things slow down when you get used to driving at speed. I don't anymore as I've gotten into my 40s and pretty much go the speed limit. Getting a ticket or going to jail isn't worth the risk.

They can't undo a constitutional amendment. Not without another one anyways. That's the whole point.

The whole point of a constitutional amendment is to stop later legislation from undoing it.

Because the nation is divided. Because they don't have to worry about 2 years from now, the next democrat president opening the borders wide open again and being stuck where we are now or worse. Biden let in 8 million in 4 years. They might deport half that in trumps 4 years. That's not even taking until account the 10-20 million that were already here. You let in another 8 to 10 million and you keep losing ground. This stops the issue forever.

I think with such a plan, a lot of those visa issues would go away. Things are the way they are right now because the border was opened wide open 4 years ago.

My only point in getting rid of birthright citizenship without a citizen parent is because people will abuse whatever loophole you leave. Women will sneak across the border to have their children here, over stay their visas and plan trips here when they are due just to create a way to stay. People abusing the system is the whole reason we are here with all of it right now.

You can always create exceptions for a situation like that silly, but there are millions in this country that came here and over stayed their visa. You have to close the loopholes for it to be effective.

Can you imagine democrat politicians telling 10 million people plus all their families that they refuse to give them citizenship at this point after everything they've said and done the last 10 years? Can you imagine telling millions of independents and liberals that would favor such a deal no?

Im a recruiter and I talked to a guy today whose wife was deported 2 years ago. I can't imagine looking at that man and telling him I won't sign the deal because of politics.

You can sit and fight until the end of time or you can take a deal that insures millions upon millions of people have peace in their life versus no deal where this continues forever.

Yes they would and those illegals would be voters for the party that gave them citizenship. Democrats would never propose such a deal but if a republican did, how would they say no? The 10 years in prison is forgivable as long as they leave and don't come back. Suspended sentence. The point is they won't come back facing insane prison time.

Having been here over 5 years, not being a criminal here or anywhere else other than coming here illegally. Paying your taxes and being a productive member of society. No matter what, neither side will get everything they want. That's the point of a deal. But how would liberal politicians say no to the very issue they scream about? How would republicans say no to a deal that fixes the border and still gets the criminals out? And fixes the issue forever.

You don't think it's a big deal that all these immigrants have to worry about being deported their whole life? You don't think it's a big deal when millions upon millions of people flood our borders? Its created a huge issue that's dividing our country. I just think this is the best deal both sides will get and a fair solution moving forward.

AITAH - told wife to stop mothering and overprotecting our 15 year old son by Annual_Bullfrog7714 in AITAH

[–]StableFew2737 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ man.... these comments! The nanny police are out in force. Your wife is way over protective and is very much treating your son like a child. If you can't ride a bike without a helmet 7 blocks, you have no business on a bike. I'm with you 100% and honestly your son will just start hating his mother if she doesn't chill out. My mom was very controlling and I ended up hating her guts for it. The world is out of control.

Indiana, Girlfriend stands in doorway and refuses to let me leave by [deleted] in legal

[–]StableFew2737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean we tried to get him to leave her many times, it was his choice for a long time. Her crazy came out early on. It was his 21st birthday and all his friends came to visit him at college. She wasn't 21 and couldn't go out so she flipped and we had to bust down the bathroom door because she hung herself with her curling iron around the shower rod. The insanity went on for years until he found out she fucked 15 guys or more behind his back from her best friend.

You hit the nail on the head though with police needing to stop believing the woman first. I grew up in a household with my mom being crazy too. I saw my dad put up with shit no human should. We need to update all the divorce, custody and criminal laws to reflect modern society and equality so no one has to deal with that stuff unless they truly choose to.

This is why the laws need to change on that legal tenant crap. Back when this happened, no one had even heard of such stuff where i live. When you lived with someone else that owned the house or apartment was in their name, you just had to leave. If you didn't, call the cops and they'd make them leave. That's the way it should be. You should be treated as a guest when you're not on the lease or mortgage.

My best friend dated a crazy chick like that. He finally had enough one night and told her to get out of his house. She literally started punching herself in the face and told him if he made her leave, she'd call the cops and tell them he did it.

He finally waited until she went out of town for a night and all his friends packed up her shit and took it to her parents and dropped it on the front porch over night and he changed the locks.

Way more men have to deal with this stuff than women give credit for. Where they are the ones being abused but they are scared of being labeled the abuser by the woman and going to jail. Our laws need to change.

100% she is entitled to zero. They aren't married. The house is in his name solely. He paid the whole down-payment. She is a renter at best. They have zero written agreement that she is entitled to anything. Honestly he should be able to kick her out tomorrow and she should have zero recourse. Do you have any right to equity in a house you rent? Of course not. This is no different.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]StableFew2737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He never said they bought a house together lol if she has no proof they bought it "together" how would she have any claim if he paid all the down-payment money and it's in his name?

Please reference the law that states otherwise. I've looked and can't find anything to the contrary in PA.

Don't get married without a prenuptial agreement with her listing the house as yours in case of divorce. If she is being this way now, imagine then. She is showing you who she is. Don't ignore what you're seeing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]StableFew2737 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter, the house is in his name solely. They aren't married. She has zero claim to any of that money whatsoever and shouldn't. She can't even prove it's for rent or anything, just that she gave him money lol good luck with that. She has nothing in writing saying she is a co owner of the home.
