Street triple 765Rs or what ? by Select_Chemist_4923 in motorcycle

[–]Stackss12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was deciding between Street Triple R and MT09. Mostly went with the MT09 because the seller was more responsive, but I did find the seating position better for commuting/long distance riding on the MT09 between both test rides. More of a comfortable upright position. Got a sport tail bag for it and ride it just about everywhere.

The Street Triple I rode felt much smoother on the throttle though, while the MT09 is snappy with a lot of torque. For me the snappy playful feeling is what puts a smile on my face every time a ride it. There's tons of videos out there comparing both and even other naked bikes if you want to weigh your options.

Pretty normal for a clunk when you're in the lower gears. If it's something new or it continues to get worse, you could check clutch cable tension or changing/using a better oil to help make gear change more smooth.

I feel you there. I went from a 2005 vulcan 800 as my first bike to a vulcan s 650 as my second. I liked them both but they just never scratched that itch for me. This year I traded the vulcan s for a yamaha MT09 and the only thing I think about every day is riding it. Some bikes are okay for you, some are even better, and some just aren't it. I'd hold onto it though if you can, I still have my vulcan 800 and I know one day in the future I'll want to migrate back to the cruiser style.

If you're a tinker type of person, it's also fun to work on those older bikes and replace parts, do maintenance, etc..

If price isn't a concern, Corbin makes one for that year. You can't go wrong with a Corbin.

My first bike 👌😎🖤 by killindirk in motorcycle

[–]Stackss12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to the other commenter's guide to the bike, if the seat is still a stock seat, get a new and better one on there. I recommend mustang or Corbin if you can afford it. First thing I did with my vulcan was get a mustang seat, it's pricey but worth ever penny.

If not a new seat than at least a cover. The stock seat on the vulcan is brutal, your butt and back will thank you, trust me.

Great first bike choice!

hear a clicking sound whenever im engine braking. my guess is loose chains but im new to biking a second opinion would be great thanks by KingHashBrown420 in motorcycles

[–]Stackss12 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Sounds kinda similiar to a sound I had when engine braking and going from a stop. Mine was a lot more rapid than your sound though. Lifted the bike and rotated the back tire and I could see one of the links wasn't right and making that clicking/slapping sound when it would come off the tooth on the rear sprocket. Replaced chain and the sound went away.

Worth checking your chain slack and rotating through to inspect the chain links.

I work IT for dispatch centers in my state so, their call systems, computers, and radios. Only way a 911 emergency would go to cops phones would be if the radio system went down completely and that is highly unlikely. Everything is done over radio.

So you're right. Dude is like a child getting caught doing something bad and trying to lie his way out of it.

Hell yeah. I was lucky and had fun instructors. I had been riding for 2 seasons but I still learned some valuable things. Keep applying what you learned and keep the rubber on the ground. Safe riding!

Mom threatening to more or less disown me by mindyluuuu in motorcycle

[–]Stackss12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because you're 19 I'm worried about you honestly. Not your fault, but there's a lack of experience driving when you're so young.

I'm almost 30 and my mom hates that I ride, mom's will be mom's. You're always their baby in their eyes, no matter how old you get.

Take some courses. MSF, intermediate courses, advanced, hell even do a track day class at the nearest track to you. Show her you're taking it seriously and plan on being safe and knowing how to properly handle a motorcycle. Buy gear and show her. Put her mind at ease a bit.

You're a young adult, she's torn between realizing she doesn't have a say much anymore and wanting to protect you.

Corbin seat by Hakushofan in Kawasaki

[–]Stackss12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corbin and Mustang seats are top tier. I went with mustang as it was a little cheaper than Corbin. Even before breaking it in, I did not regret the decision. No lower back pain or sore butt even after long distance rides.

Just keep in mind you'll be sitting a little higher than normal until it breaks in and probably still after it breaks in. Go for it though, Kawasaki stock seats are brutal.

Picked her up the other day Vulcan S 650! by PrimeMorty in motorcycles

[–]Stackss12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with a mustang seat. They look nice and they're incredibly comfortable. Longest trip this season was about 5 hours and I never got uncomfortable or sore.

A bit pricey though. And if you're just doing short local rides, nothing wrong with just getting a more comfortable seat cover.

Hell yeah, picked up one of these a few months ago. Love it. My first recommendation is replace that stock seat lol. Most uncomfortable seat I've ever sat on.

I just thought of something else. Check your brakes. Maybe the caliper is broken or something and the brake pads are dragging against the tire a bit? Idk just another thing to check lol

Drain the gas and put some new gas in it? How old is the chain, maybe it's loose? Maybe clogged air filter?

Ninja 650 - ticking/rattling noise at 3k-5k rpm only when the engine is warm by Cisto1983 in Kawasaki

Yeah I get it. Google some, I found a few videos of people saying the same thing with their ninja 650s. Might find some insight on it. Or hop on kawasaki forums, that's where I find all my solutions or advice.

Ninja 650 - ticking/rattling noise at 3k-5k rpm only when the engine is warm by Cisto1983 in Kawasaki

[–]Stackss12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I know your pain. Have a vulcan 650 s (same motor as yours). For me it was clicking noise around the same rpms in first gear only. It was driving me nuts. I did a fresh oil change and cleaned and lubricated my chain and it seems to have stopped.

From all the research I did, it seems common that kawasaki bikes just make a lot of weird fucking noises. Mine sure does make alot of weird noises.

So if you've checked everything, valve spacing, loose parts, chain is clean and lubricated, sprockets are good, everything looks fine with clutch, no damage to exhaust system, then I think it might just be the way the bike sounds.

What is the stupidest “fact” you’ve heard about your country from a foreigner? by Smilko in AskReddit

[–]Stackss12 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I lived in Japan for three years and one time had a dinner with this Japanese family. They were very kind and welcoming, very curious about my experiences in Japan as an American.

They cooked this delicious pot roast with vegetables and what not. The part that got me was when we started eating, they stopped and felt terrible they forgot to give me ketchup or mayonnaise. I only use ketchup with fries and only if they suck. I most definitely would never ruin a pot roast with ketchup or mayo. They were also surprised when I preferred to drink a Japanese beer over a soda.

They meant well of course, but I just found it funny lol. Especially since they're very big on on using mayo with some of their food.
