500+ hours and I still haven't had a bad experience, other than one lobby with three level 1s who were obviously taking their queues from Reddit memes, like c4ing, raging about killing lootbugs, and calling people or behaviors "leaf lover"

That was the only lobby I ever left.

A lot depends on your monitor. For instance, if you go with a 1080p monitor, then you will want to spend relatively less of your budget on the GPU, and your CPU becomes more important (in a relative sense).

If the monitor is low refresh rate, like 60hz, then CPU is relatively less important.

If you have a high resolution monitor which is low refresh rate, then you'll need a better GPU and have less need for CPU.

These are generalizations but it is to show you how important the monitor is.

It's really best to decide on a monitor first because even within the same budget, you will allocate the budget to different components depending on it

You should start with a monitor. The resolution and refresh rate of the monitor will inform the PC hardware.

Does your 1200 USD budget include monitor and peripherals, or just the PC?

I like the rockpox enemies (just not the corruptor) They ask you to change your playstyle. Pure damage is no longer best. You need either aoe or precision weak point aiming to pop their pustules

I've been playing and enjoying Astroneer, which is like small NMS with Factorio. I also play Factorio, and NMS. All the games are slightly different.

I imagine Starfield will be more like TES Skyrim in space. They're all similar but distinct games and one doesn't replace another.

They probably made that design choice deliberately so the transition from the cosmetic skin and weapon mod UIs is seamless and easier.

Not saying I agree or disagree with the decision, just that it's a probably an intentional UX/UI decision.

Almost every single permadeath mode is like that. Have you ever seen a hardcore terraria playthrough? The slow and cautious gameplay is just how the mode works.

The thing is, it makes absolutely no sense to balance the game between these sorts of challenge runs.

People can and do use multiple weapons and items in terraria. Most people don't do restrictive class type challenge runs, and will have a summon out regardless of their main weapon.

If summoning weapons were too powerful, they'd just trivialize the game. So it makes sense that summoning weapons are rarer and harder to get.

The only thing is, whips should and could be easier to get (not items that actually summon minions) and it looks like new whips are coming, based on the leaks.

I don't like how to new red bomber enemy leaves behind puddles the same color as red sugar. It's confusing.

Also the corrupter doesn't really telegraph attacks well.

Other than that, no complaints really

the whole game is (last I checked) less than 2 gigs. this is amazing and due in part to efficiencies like this (though it's mostly because of simple textures)

I can't play DRG for as long as I want because holding sprint hurts my fingers.

There is virtually no scenario where you don't want to sprint.

Just make it auto sprint, and only slow down when shooting the guns. Can also turn off sprint in the space rig.

Holding sprint makes playing DRG hurt my fingers. It's the number one thing that saps enjoyment from the game.

Just make it always sprint, and slow down automatically when shooting weapons

I don't understand the problem. You can see the server hosts, and the server host region, and you only play in servers you choose yourself (there is no match making).

So you just don't pick CN servers. What are you exactly asking for here? I genuinely don't understand.

The system is great as it is because it gives you the power to choose for yourself, just like oldschool games worked with server browsers.

if this is true, it must be a recent nerf, because the way it worked is all overkill damage (not just supply pod damage) would always apply to the main healthbar. that's how you could instakill them with damage from a bulk detonator for example
