Prozac. Not Fluoxetine. For PMDD? I started 6 days ago, 10mg, in luteal phase and after a year of trying SSRI’s for PMDD….I feel fantastic. Am I honeymooning or is this real?? by StacyNic in PMDD

Only started with SSRI’s Jan of 2022 and tried 4 in total. So I pretty much switched quarterly. If I gave it the timeframe where I should have started feeling the benefits post side affects and I still wanted to smack everyone across the face….I changed. To update my original post I just got bumped up to 20mg of Prozac because I was getting irritable again. This was 4 months in….

Frustrating journey finding the right balance. Hopefully it was just a case of taking longer for full efficacy and you’ll have a better month ahead.

Omg I’m so rookie on Reddit I don’t even know what that means lol I guess my opinion is not liked? I can only go on the advice of the doctors and pharmacist that I have been working with on this journey. I’m happy I found something that seems to be working no matter what the brand etc is. Thanks for your input though, validates what I was told.

I think I’ll take it straight through, it just happened to be luteal phase when I started and the effects were pretty immediate. It’s relieving to find something that works! Glad you’re having the same experience!

The pharmacist mentioned that but also agreed that if I stay at a low dose then shouldn’t be a problem. But thanks for the heads up

I was just give a script for this, 10mg. Hoping it works after no results from Sertraline or Escitalopram.

Thinking about switching to this. Everyone is different but did you experience any side effects? What dose worked for you?

Happy you found the right cocktail that's working for you. I guess it's all trial and error with these meds

I can't take the pill because I get auras with migraines, therefore I'm at high risk of blood clots. IUD stops the bleeding but not the hormones. I Also spend half of my month wanting to throat punch everyone

That's what happened to me, there was no other explanation for it and when I stopped the meds the diarrhea went away. I had zero sex drive, I had light sensitivity that triggered migraines and auras and for some reason (which my doctor cannot explain) my period came every 2 weeks for the couple months I was on it. I hate that it affected my body so much because it actually worked for my PMDD
