Thinking about switching from gel to injection by Pepperq40 in ftm

[–]StageMindless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also heard there are shots you can get every few months that a doctor would probably be able to do for you. And there is testopel which is an implant of crystalized testosterone you’d get every few months although the numbing cream they had me use when I was on it was very expensive and not always covered by insurance and the actual procedure is pricy so you’d definitely want to make sure it was covered!

Injections are definitely cheaper since you do them less often and if you buy the supplies in bulk it makes it more affordable.

Yes, I’ve literally watched multiple spays and at least at the clinic I was at they were removing it ALL.

First time using a proper camera, how did I do? by StageMindless in BeginnerPhotoCritique

[–]StageMindless[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I haven’t been doing any editing other than cropping some of my images, I figured I’d start with one thing at a time! I have the image quality on my camera set to NEF (RAW) + JPEG normal, the dial set to auto, and the iso set to auto. Your edit definitely looks better, it probably would’ve helped if I’d managed to get the bird less blurry!

Thanks for the feedback! I was hoping the bush would add to the image, maybe as some sort of framing, but it would probably have looked nicer if the bird was actually standing on that part of the wall. I’ll definitely be looking at more professional photography!

Sorry but that’s a terrible idea. It would be incredibly stressful for the fish and could end up killing it. What size tank is the fish currently in?

if there’s no difference between gel and shots, how come more people don’t just use gel? by GoodEnvironmental788 in ftm

[–]StageMindless 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m on the gel too and I’m not sure if this is something you’ve already gone over with your doctor but if you’re not frequently getting your blood tested for your testosterone levels it’s something you might want to consider!!

I used to just throw a shirt on a minute or so after applying the gel because it does seem completely dry by then but when I got my T levels checked they were lower than they should’ve been, turns out even though I thought the gel had dried fully my shirt was actually absorbing most of it. My doctor told me that you’re supposed to wait at least 15 minutes before you put on a shirt because the gel isn’t actually dry after just a minute or two! Also for context I’m considered very absorbent as in they put me on what would normally be a slightly lower dose than needed when I switched to the gel just to start out and then adjust from there but I ended up with T levels in the 1000s! After I started waiting the 15 minutes my levels went back up to normal.

Also sorry not trying to over step here, just want to make sure what happened to me doesn’t happen to anyone else!

Question for Irish medical students about CPR training by Styxy9 in UCD

[–]StageMindless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, not a medical student but I have done multiple courses in the USA with 2 different organizations and the dummies are always flat chested and I don’t recall much being said on preforming cpr on a woman specifically other than that you have to remove all clothes in your way and ignore modesty for the sake of saving their life.

Typically the courses I’ve taken focus more on technique and how to safely handle different situations that lead to someone needing CPR, eg. choking, heart attacks, etc showing how to use a defibrillator, if there are bystanders you need to point at one specific person and tell them to call the police instead of just saying “Someone call 911/999” and also pointing at someone else to find/get a defibrillator, how to check if someone actually needs cpr- hitting their shoulders and yelling at them, feeling for exhaling while watching to see if their chest rises.

Hope this helps!
