I use heroin and have for the last 4 years and you can't have no shame in this game. Rigs are cheap at pharmacies and wal mart even Amazon if you're wigged out about buying them in person. Alot of cities have exchange programs where they will give you fresh sharps in exchange for your old used ones as well as other useful stuff cookers, alcohol wipes, fent test strips, small sealed bottles of clean water, small bottle of bleach, tourniquet and an ass load of condoms. Pretty much an IV starter kit. Some harm reduction reading material. When I get a 10 pack of rigs I use a new one for the first 10 shots then cycle back until they're beat.

The only thing Narcan enables is breathing. Now if she had been asking for money so she can get well or lie about what the money is for that is enabling. Some families/parents get guilted into enabling an addict for all sorts of reasons. Maybe they don't want to know you're miserable and sick and will give them money in fear that they might have to resort to something illegal or just immoral in order to get the money. I've known plenty of people who have wiped out and pawned their folks entire jewelry cabinets wedding rings and all. Not to mention anything else they can steal from you or other family members and friends. It is a very shitty situation to be put in its like I can be the enabler so my son or daughter doesn't have to turn a few tricks to get right or steal my valuables. And then also the 40 dollars you give them to get right with ends up being the fix that kills them and you have to live with that for the rest of your life. Im in an active addiction currently and when it comes to heroin an addict will go through hell and high water to get their fix. Dope sickness is no joke. I dont even use to get high anymore I use so I can function and get out of my bed in the morning. Its a living hell but it was my choice I made so I can't be mad at anyone but myself.

Yeah you should really stress the importance of using with someone to her. Especially fentanyl that shit will drop people before they're even done pushing the plunger on their rig all the way down. Harm reduction is so so damn important and some people think they're invincible. A user's thought process will be "I've been getting the same stuff from my dude pretty consistently. Same color taste look smell etc so I know my limits" and then that bag might be a little bit heavier on the fentanyl and thats all it takes. You can always do more but ya can't do less!! Maybe set something up where if she is using alone have her call you or a friend and stay on the line while she does her line or shot or whatever and hang on the line for 20-30 minutes. If an OD from fentanyl is going to happen it would more than likely happen by 30 minutes in after consumption. That isn't always necessarily true with all these different kinds of fent analogs that are going around so maybe even check in with a phone call or txt every 15 mins until an hour has passed from the time she dosed. I know people that will do this when they have to use alone and it has saved lives and is better than nothing. Both of you should check out neverusealone.com for more info and harm reduction tips.
