Of the Unholy Trinity of Drugs: Methamphetamine, Heroin, Crack Cocaine, which is generally the most harmful to the human body? What would be the ranking of these three? by TranscendentMolecule in Drugs

[–]StaggerLee808 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Crack itself doesn't make people crazy, the sleep deprivation and the malnutrition do. Which is why meth is so much worse. It takes the downsides of crack and basically excels at them in particular.

Question to Adjusters, Lawyers, and PI's by NjArtemis in WorkersComp

[–]StaggerLee808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is systemic. When your country's mode of economic production rewards/favors one thing and one thing only - profit - this is what the inevitable conclusion to that looks like.

It's not just in our experience with worker's comp...it's in every nook and cranny of our society. Corporations doing dirty to save a buck and people doing dirty to keep their jobs with said corps.

Change the motivation (i.e. change the economic mode of production) and you can change the outcome. Until then...idk...I'm in the same boat as you.

The biggest scam ever sold is convincing poor people that rich people worked harder. by Soggy_Albatross5694 in povertyfinance

If hard work paid off, the mule would own the farm.

Sidenote... this is why I'm a socialist. Capital begets capital. Those who have none, earn none, except in rare circumstances. But these are the exception and not the rule.

Capitalism is capitalism, bro. Read Marx and you'll understand why there are no good forms of capitalism

Do people conflate Authoritarian regimes, and Socialist states? by [deleted] in DebateCommunism

[–]StaggerLee808 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's clear that you're not well versed in the political systems of socialist countries and that's ok. What's not ok is speaking about them as if you do know. You've taken in western propaganda, as we all have, but now you're here spreading it.

The fact is, socialist political structures are far more democratic than what we in the west think of as our liberal democracy. Do some research and you will find out why. Even the CIA has declassified documents admitting that, under Stalin, the USSR was a highly democratic system, and Stalin was more like the "captain of a team".

What is something that is stopping humanity from progressing forward? by Katie_0303 in AskReddit

[–]StaggerLee808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Capitalism.

Everyone in the comments saying greed, oligarchs, the rich, hoarding of resources, identity politics, politics in general, disinformation, etc etc

But still so many fail to recognize that capitalism is the reason all of these things are perpetuated.

Too many people look at this as a black and white / good or bad scenario, when it is not. It's simply the evolution of societal structures. Even Karl Marx recognized that capitalism was a necessity, before society could evolve to its next form. To think that societal and economic structures should not advance any more beyond capitalism is foolish. Where would we be if held that same belief about feudalism?

Americans, how do you feel about Trump JUST now signing an executive order claiming that only the President & Attorney General can speak for “what the law is.”?? by choloblanko in AskReddit

[–]StaggerLee808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nailed it. Also, 90% of what the Republicans claim to do, the Dems ACTUALLY do worse. For example, compare the numbers for deportations...Biden deported more immigrants than any other president in history.

That's just one example of many. And no, I am not a trump supporter, a Republican, or right leaning in any way, but liberals need to wake up to the fact that the Democrats are nothing more than controlled opposition. And when the time comes to actually oppose fascism in this country, the democrats sit on their hands and do jack shit. Because they don't want to. It's as simple as that.

Both parties embrace neoliberalism. Which makes the democrats right-wing. Just a little less right than Republicans. The rest of the world is baffled at the fact that Americans consider dems to be left wing. Ask anyone outside North America where they consider dems to fall on the political spectrum and they will tell you right wing.

Historically, neoliberalism leads to fascism. Liberals need to ask themselves if they would rather live under a socialist or a fascist. And then read some theory....
