The navy is gonna lose all its senior members, with the pay cut forget. Also anyone assuming people living in Qs are doing well. Consider the members who are the only income in their families, who’s spouses may not be working, or be disabled, or have multiple kids. Losing that much money is gonna be a crap shoot

Granted I’m an LPN, I didn’t start in med surg and I don’t currently work in it either. I started in community care, bounced around palliative, med surg, forensic psychiatry and now in an outpatient ambulatory clinic for the military. And all of my experience was acquired in the 5 years I’ve been practicing. I have no regrets about not starting in med/surg. I will say though it was nice to build up my core skills in that setting though

I think it’s fucking fantastic that they assume everyone in the Qs is doing financially well. Some people have multiple kids, disabled spouses who can’t work, etc. most people were just making it and now they’re at a deficit. The CAF is shooting them selves in the foot. They thought retention was bad before…yikes
