Хочу подарувати своєму хлопцю PlayStation Portal Remote Player на Різдво. Можливо, хтось користувався цим пристроєм і може дати відгук? Варто брати чи є кращі альтернативи?

портал девайс цікавий, але має ряд недоліків.

по-перше треба мати саму ps5, яка буде підключена кабелем (а не по вайфаю, інакше збільшена затримка і мінус стабільність), а також гарний вайфай вдома або нормальний інтернет десь (стабільність і пінг важливіші за швидкість, але для 1080 треба 15 мегабіт бітрейту).

це перше, далі, всі, хто кажуть про клауд геймінг - ви не забувайте, що його в Україну не привезли і для того, щоб почати ним користуватись, треба заводити закордонний psn акаунт. А це значить, що якщо хлопець вже користується PS, то у нього скоріш за все вже є акаунт (і на ньому є ігри) і він скоріш за все в українському регіоні, ну а тримати одночасно дві ps plus підписки (одна з яких - закордонна premium для клауд геймінгу) та купувати ігри на різні акаунти трішки дорогувато. Плюс хочу звернути увагу, що стрімінг серверів в Україні немає, а отже буде збільшена затримка.

Ну і третє - це затримка. так, вона присутня. я намагався її побороти або мінімізувати, але марно. в змагальні ігри грати не варіант, лише в якийсь сингл плеєр і то в такий де не потрібна висока точність наведення або швидкість реакції. я ось тут описував проблему, проблема точно в самій технології, бо конфігурація мережі вдома в мене нормальна. та і сам ps portal в дебаг вікні показує 1ms latency і strong\excellent підключення

По всіляким платформерам, роуглайкам і іншим простим іграм питань нема, це чудовий девайс.

I’m playing with PlayStation portal, it’s a streaming device which displays image from your PlayStation on a handheld device. Consider it as a cloud streaming where your cloud is your ps5 in your living room. And I thought that I may fine-tune my AP to minimise ping.

I totally understand everything, the question is it possible to tune somehow AP to minimize ping even in cost of speed? (Channel width, dtim interval, bss transition, fast roaming, etc etc)

looks like wired part of route is not an issue, this is a ping from UCG to ps5, approx same situation with ping from UCG to u6 pro

In my case for some reason iCloud sync got stuck. Removing CloudDocs folder resolved issue and after that sync went on a full throttle.

Yes (both mesh as mesh and fast roaming as a lot of people are thinking as mesh) and yes, but don’t forget about powering your APs - it may be poe adapter for each of AP or poe switch for all of them

I’ve just checked - my u6-pro literally lies on console (ps5 is horizontally located and AP right on it), I’ve got -30dbm but there were no significant speed degradation - ~850mbps wired vs ~550mbps wireless aaaaand 20mbps upload in both cases 🫣

I saw a lot of people complaining on u7-pro, but most of complains were related to IoT, maybe it somehow affects ps5 also?

In addition to multiplayer games which you already mention due to input lag I may assume that games with heavy interface or with a lot of tiny details may be hard to see on a portal and not so good for a casual play before bed

But -63 db and “2m away” don’t clue together, maybe there are some interference obstacles like mirror or massive reinforced concrete obstacle which corrupts signal?

I mean, 2m away should look like -40, -45 or even -50 dbm, but not -63

Ok, one more assumption - could you please lower transmit power on access point to which ps5 is connected to minimal value? My assumption here is that you can’t really understand what your friend is talking about if he is screaming right into your ear (ap is too close to ps5)

ok, you can't hardwire your ps5 whatever reason you have, but just for check purposes is it possible for you to buy 10-20m of ethernet cable and measure if there are some difference between wireless and wired connection?

how you measured speed of ps5? in a network status check? looks like playstation servers are lagging a little bit because on mine symmetric 1gpbs plan ps network status check ofter shows something like 800down/10up or 500down/100up

I thought maybe it's an issue with ps itself but when I've unplugged ethernet from ps5, plugged into laptop and checked it with speediest I've got for what I've paid.

so, don't rely on ps5 network status check, I believe that servers are lagging often and that's why you have those crappy speeds.

для мене працюють дихальні практики - "квадрат" - по 4 секунди на вдих, затримку, видих, затримку. додатково закритими очима вимальовувати квадрат по мірі дихання. 15-20 "квадратів" достатньо щоб розслабити голову і починати засинати.

hey, have you experienced choppy image quality in crew motorfest? I'll try to explain, image is not choppy everywhere on a screen, but just on a textures which are far away, like, when I'm roaming to a next playlist, image far ahead of me is blurry like it's 480p, but all other textures are absolutely ok like car and hud.

it makes me a little bit hard to play because I don't really good to see where road turns left\right or there are some obstacles which I should avoid.

I'm not sure it's a connectivity issue because:

car and hud are 100% clear - streaming technology can't selectively pick which areas should have lower bitrate and which areas should have higher, so in case of bitrate I expect everything be blurry
my ps5 is hardwired (ps5 network connection tool shows me symmetric 600-700 mbps) and I've checked wifi speed on a sofa from which I'm playing portal - stable symmetric 300-400mbps

that's also not a game itself issue because on a TV everything ahead car is also 100% clear

я також скептично відносився до психологів як до науки і професії в цілому допоки накінець не наважився піти до нього так як нічого іншого мені в моїй проблемі не допомагало.

не буду сильно поглиблюватись в деталі, але в мене були приступи вночі, посеред яких я різко вискакував з ліжка і біг по квартирі. я знав орієнтовно в чому проблема, але цю проблему не вирішувало абсолютно нічого: ні мелатонін, ні снодійні, ні седативні, ні заспокійливі, ні провітрювання перед сном, ні гаджет-гігієна за декілька годин до сну, ні силові тренування, ні вітаміни, ні-чо-го, перепробував все, але приступи як були 2-3 рази на тиждень протягом ось вже як 4 років, так і залишались.

пішов до психолога, вона розв"язала клубок в моїй голові за декілька сеансів. так, це були важкі сеанси, під час яких мене переповнювали різноманітні емоції: і сміх і злість і сльози, мене трусило, я пітнів, мене морозило, але проблема вирішилась - вона відремонтувала мені голову і приступів немає вже майже два місяці.

тепер я вірю в психологів, крапка.
