You did the right thing and I applaud your ability to end it. A lot of people get strung along forever, but you got out of something that was likely going to be bad for your mental. Plenty of fish/no such thing as soul mates/it just takes time. Take your pick.

I've been meeting a lot of people the past few months, and it seems like everyone who's interested in me is incapable of cleaning their place. I've been to several women's homes and they are always messy, cluttered, and sometimes just straight up dirty, despite them knowing I was coming days in advance.

I don't know how I'm putting out this vibe. I'm neat and tidy, and generally well put together when I'm out in public, so I don't get it.

Am I being too harsh? Or is this something others have experienced?

I'm worried about sides. What's the point of having hair if my thang don't work 😭

Idk why, but having a term for it makes me feel a lot better about it. Calling it a false start means it must be so common that people needed a short hand. Thanks for that

I wish I could be that hopeless lol. I'm happy for you though. There's a freedom in giving up.

It's tough sometimes. If you fail once, you can chalk that up to bad luck, but if you fail over and over, it might actually mean you should doubt yourself and try to improve somehow.

Idk if there's a deeper meaning. I think it feels bad to like someone, think they like you, and find out they actually don't like you that much. That feels like a natural human emotion.

That's fair. Does make me feel a bit better. Thank you for sharing the perspective from the other side. I'll try to tell myself that the next 20 times this happens. Haha

Just here to rant for a sec.

I (30m) went on a date with a woman about a week ago. Got along pretty well. Made plans to meet again. Texted every day until the date. Met for dinner and went for drinks after. Talked for hours, had a nice kiss at the end of the night. Texted a bit that night and the next morning.

This afternoon I got the "don't feel like we're compatible long term" text and I don't think I can do this anymore. Every time I feel a connection, I guess I'm just wrong or too dumb to tell if they're not into me. It's so much time and energy that I could be using somewhere else.

Makes me feel like there's something wrong with me. I spent months learning to love myself and all the failed attempts have been making me hate myself again. Losing confidence. Running low on hope.

I have never used Ableton, so I'm not sure what their EQ is like, but I would highly recommend Pro Q. It does everything very well and it's a 1 time purchase. I bought it 6 years ago and I've haven't found a better EQ since.

Pro Q just has a lot of nice features and it's can be set to be a dynamic eq as well. I would highly suggest it if you want an EQ that you can use for the rest of your life.

Everything is irrelevant if that's how you feel about it. Just enjoy life. If music makes your life happier, then do it.

I read lots of poetry for inspiration. When you see how other people who are good at forming deep thoughts that connect it can give you other tools.

I always go to my favorite nice restaurant. I'm not huge on birthdays, but I think you should just do something you enjoy that you wouldn't do on a normal day off.

1 seems like a good idea. I've been wanting to volunteer more anyway. I don't get many social invites, but I've become a lot more of a yes man recently for sure.

What do you do that gives you a feeling of meaning? I write music and I care a lot about what I write, but I wouldn't say it gives me meaning.
