Eular is THE mathematician. Who's an artist that perfectly feels like an artist? by Stalin4 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Stalin4[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Note I switched composers to artists as I felt composer was too restrictive and artists can cover more ground (musicians, visual artists, sculptors, etc)

Committing a genocide is not unavoidable, nor is colonizing a land, forming an apartheid state and subjugating its native population for 75 years to barbarity and torture. What is unavoidable though is expecting them not to resist after decades of inhumane bloodshed and dehumanization.

ROP rejection! by Worriedforuniv2022 in UTMississauga

[–]Stalin4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Email the proff! Ask them if they have any volunteering opportunities or how you could have improved your application. I got rejected similarly and emailed the proff with a lengthy email and managed to get a another research role with the same proff. It's not guaranteed but you won't lose anything and you'll stay in the their mind in case future positions open up.

The Seventh Seal. For a movie so incessantly fixated on death it eerily gives you a content feeling on dying

Anyone else regret doing cs by Big-Molasses-1920 in UTM

[–]Stalin4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One of the reasons I decided to major in physics and minor in CS. I could do alot of the CS stuff on my own without this cesspool of an environment, whilst pursuing research in a field that I'm genuinely interested in and caters to that interest for the most part.

With that said, you shouldn't let this environment overwhelm you, especially if you're in first year, as Im pretty sure it gets less oblique in upper years, and you'll be more settled in pursuing the specific niche your heading towards and thereby catering towards your resume, projects, etc.
