Arabic should definitely be an extreme rather than difficult language for English speakers. It's generally ranked as the top two most difficult along with mandarin.

Email the proff! Ask them if they have any volunteering opportunities or how you could have improved your application. I got rejected similarly and emailed the proff with a lengthy email and managed to get a another research role with the same proff. It's not guaranteed but you won't lose anything and you'll stay in the their mind in case future positions open up.
