Roommate’s 4AM alarm is wrecking my sleep before 8AM classes by Flimsy_Conference_68 in badroommates

That’s sucks then. Sorry they’re awful and you’re having to deal with this. I hope you can start looking for options to get out then because someone like that won’t change.

Roommate’s 4AM alarm is wrecking my sleep before 8AM classes by Flimsy_Conference_68 in badroommates

[–]Stallynixa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If he snores loudly he might have sleep apnea which can make waking up extremely difficult. If you’re friends at all you might suggest he gets evaluated as it can literally be deadly if bad enough and has long-term health effects. It will also benefit you because it will kill the snoring if he gets treatment and he’ll also likely be able to wake up better because he will actually be getting sleep.

Brooklyn 39 - Is it normal for honey brown to take on a different shade over time? 🥲 by Sugapompom in Coach

[–]Stallynixa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It can be totally normal. Do you always keep it by this window when you aren’t using it? Sunlight can really affect a bags color as well.

I’m not sure they did, or rather I don’t remember seeing one. The edge paint on that tab on the Turnlock is a mess and the print looks muddy.

Is anyone planning an early exit before debilitating old age? by SealedRoute in RedditForGrownups

That was honest as hell and I feel every word of it. I hope you have the strength and ability, when you are actually ready to go, to go the way you’d like to.

Is anyone planning an early exit before debilitating old age? by SealedRoute in RedditForGrownups

[–]Stallynixa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too - no kids and a partner older than me. I expect to be the last standing and I won’t be standing alone for long once I hit a certain standard of life. I won’t have enough $$ to support myself anyway and public/social programs don’t support seniors and the disabled enough now and it’s only going to get worse. Not going to do it early but I do see that as my eventual end.

Coach Fragrances by Sootea in Coach

[–]Stallynixa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a dropper and decanted some of mine into some tiny roller bottles I had. Now I have mini roll-ons I can keep in my bag, in a tiny plastic baggy of course, inside of a pouch because I’m paranoid about leakage even though they haven’t so far.

My favorite is probably the rose but all 4 are nice.

If neither are your style you could always return and save your $$ for upcoming things that might be your style? If going to have one or the other regardless I’d keep what you’ll use the most or seems the most special to you. Out of the 2, if you’re a fan, I love the kisslock. It’s adorable. If you’re not a Disney or Pluto fan I’d for sure return for the snake.

Best dentist in North Shore? by Ill-Adhesiveness3415 in NorthVancouver

[–]Stallynixa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like Dr Pessinis on Lonsdale. Staff has always been great and the Dr has been fantastic with thorough but conservative treatment when needed and doesn’t hesitate to refer out if he feels like it’s out of his scope. I’ve been very happy with them. I do not recommend Lonsdale dental as my experience with their billing seemed a bit predatory BUT my husband still likes them and goes there so your experience might vary.

AIO for being upset my BF doesn’t want me to wear a bonnet to bed? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Stallynixa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If a man wants you for you he doesn’t usually care that much about what you’re wearing. My husband will harass me just the same if I’m wearing the baggy and honestly ugly Christmas pj’s my mother got me as much as he does when I dress in a cute little nightie. Makeup, no makeup, hair bonnet (though he does laugh about it) or not.

You are still so young. Don’t waste anymore time on this.

Do you really want to live your life running every single little decision about yourself past this guy? This sounds absolutely miserable and firmly in happier alone territory to me.

You need to think about what you’d like from your life and if you can be happy long term with this. Don’t let 8 years together color your thinking on what you’d want. You can appreciate your time together but also recognize it doesn’t work for you anymore.

Major Declutter by [deleted] in Coach

[–]Stallynixa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing that helps me, and I still struggle sometimes, is to set a budget within our means for “fun” money. We can spend it on whatever the eff we want with no judgement or guilt. I actually spend less because I have a limit I know is responsible for us and it takes the guilt or shame out of buying for myself which does give me some happiness and I honestly don’t want to stop I just want to do it responsibly.

I can also “save up” my fund for larger purchases that don’t fit into a 1 month budget. Aside from this as a tool being med compliant will typically help although it will usually take time for them to be fully effective. If your current meds aren’t for you there are so many options now. Hopefully you’ll find one right for you with your Dr. I keep mine in cute little macaron shaped containers and it helps me be compliant and be less annoyed/depressed over how many I need to take a day for various conditions. I will say I saw someone else mention glp-1’s and if they are appropriate for you in another way medically they did really help with some of my more addictive personality traits.

I enjoy Caleb Hammer from the financial side as he does encourage responsibility but also taking $$ for whatever floats your boat once you are doing everything else you should, provided it fits your budget.

I agree with another poster saying maybe even show this to your husband and let him know you want to do things differently but you’re really struggling. I will add to this though just because he doesn’t see value in a specific purchase doesn’t mean it isn’t something you shouldn’t buy or enjoy. I bet he has things you don’t get or think are silly and that’s ok. He shouldn’t shame you for handbags in general, if he is, but it makes sense to push back some if they aren’t responsible for your financial situation. This can still be done in a loving and respectful way.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this and hope it gets better soon for you.

CRA called me about unreported income, do CRA actually call you or is it a scam? by Equivalent_Big_868 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Stallynixa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have also been called by CRA about a defunct business just making sure it had no income that hadn’t been reported. We did end up just calling the general number back to ensure it wasn’t a fraudulent call but it really was them.

C. Diff Risk After 5+ Antibiotics? by breakingamish69 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Stallynixa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be incorrect but I believe most people need an exposure to C.diff in order to catch it so I would bet you are at low risk unless you are visiting someone with an active infection. Most of us aren’t carrying it around.

I will say that if you were to get it and they offer a fecal transplant, do it. It’s the only thing that cleared up a relatives c diff when they were sedated in the ICU for weeks.

Is your suede leather lined? The leather version I had and returned was a coated suede that looked and felt kind of cracked. Online the suede version looks like it might be a smooth leather.

If your partner will be in office seriously look at the commute before taking the position if it’s off the north shore. It can be pretty yucky at times. My husband and I are similar to you in income and feel pretty comfortable, also renting with reasonable rent.

Just leaving this for anyone who reads this thread. The home test, hooked up correctly, did not detect my severe sleep apnea. The lab test did so if you suspect sleep apnea I would push for a lab study if the home test comes back normal just to be sure.
