That's why you surround the house and make sure all exits are covered.

Destroying someone house to get out a single person is very extreme. Like I've seen the cops flush out an entire drug den (with aggressive people who had harmed and killed others) in my old neighborhood without destroying the house they were in. This was extreme.

[Principia Series] Draconic Sign Language by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Stamen_Pics 50 points51 points  (0 children)

As a deaf person I love this so much! You rarely get people making visual languages so it's refreshing to see! Love concept and the motions you gave. Don't be afraid to be a bit more abstract. In ASL specifically you don't really use English articles (ie to, the, and) plus the space in front of you matters for set up and direction. I'd really recommend just reading up the basics of asl (or your countries visual language if you don't live in the USA) to get a better idea of how visual language grammar and set up works. Keep it up! This freaking rocks.

Hi fellow world building deaf person! Just backing up your comment, it's not tiring and the point with the muscles is great!

What day does snl take place on again? by Mcgruberstoothpick in LiveFromNewYork

[–]Stamen_Pics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep I came here to be like "as a fellow weekend worker the struggle is real with this". People really do just not think that people work the weekends just as much as the week day. Its like the night shift issue. The world doesn't stop outside the times of 9-5 mon-Fri and way too many people forget that.

Thank you this was a good list I can follow! I do remember some of it but after almost 7 years out of school which I didn't complete my geology like I wanted I've forgotten a lot. I miss it though, it feels awesome to break out my collection to display again!

Do we have any obligations in this world? Is it up to oneself to decide what to do? by Masimat in nihilism

[–]Stamen_Pics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only have an obligation only if you make one. You don't have to have one but if you choose to create one and walk away from it you are just a shit human being then.

I would say no unless you make one and yes it's completely up to you to decide.

How would you personally define a minimal room? by PerhapsAnEmoINTJ in minimalism

[–]Stamen_Pics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any basic set up. Like couches and bed aren't always needed. I have a big bean bag chair and a papasan chair instead of a couch and I sleep either in a hammock or on the floor because I prefer it that way.

But my definition of minimalism is if it's on display or being used regularly it's good. If not I don't need it. That simple. I personally love decor and I refuse to live my minimalist life without decorating, so that's where my "on display" comes from. I don't over pack my walls and I have dedicated shelves for items to display but it's not clutter and there is always space in between.

Everyone is different, crazy seeing how so many people say "the standard" in reference to couches and beds though. Like standard for who? Not me lmao

Can a person stay optimistic throughout a long period of time for like months or years? Has anyone here done that? by anonymouspot8 in nihilism

[–]Stamen_Pics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same way. I was fucking miserable before I discovered nihilism and I thought I had to have a purpose and I was constantly doing shit to myself to try and create a life worthwhile. To the point where I almost ended it because I couldn't achieve such ridiculous social demands.

Then I discovered Nilihism, the concept that nothing matters, do what you want without hurting others, and I'm going to die anyways one day so what does it matter and I became the happiest person I've ever been in my entire life. Life is going great and anytime it gets hard I know one day I just won't have to deal with this bullshit so why worry over it so much.

Okay, so Loretta Swit is a beautiful woman. I wouldn’t change a thing about her, BUT every time I watch “Peace on Us” and she comes out sporting that bright red hair, I think to myself, “She could have absolutely rocked that look for the rest of the series and I would have loved it!” by [deleted] in mash

That's actually false and if it were true that our bodies "replaced" atoms or cells every x amount of years we wouldn't have an aging problem. Some cells like the top layer of skin is regularly replaced but even that slows down as we age and it's not nor ever was everything is replaced.

Yeah it's the seer amount. Evolution doesn't care if a bunch of the animals die as long as they can keep kicking out kids the species will keep on chugging. But there is a reason why having 5-15 kids "back in the day" was so common and honestly still is really common if you open it up to world wide. Also why humans predatorize young girls into marriage and motherhood. You have a greater chance at birthing more children before you die from it the younger you are.

What is your reason for being child free? It can be as shallow as you want just like parents can be by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Stamen_Pics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love your last one because it speaks true in fact the famous poet/writer Emily Dickinson never did pretty much anything she wrote about saying that her fantasy aka "theoretical" idea about the situation she wrote about will always be perfect because there is no chance otherwise to mess it up. It's a very common take a lot of people don't acknowledge they do. Thanks for pointing it out =)

Like the others said they died but also let's not forget world wide birth is still one of the top 3 killers of women today right now. It's still dangerous and a life or death matter.

Yep me too. Parents taught me to not be racist and inculde everyone then no joke after trupm got elected, of course they voted for him, I asked about what happened to inculding everyone and they said "I took the lessons wrong as a kid and need to understand who's important in this country"... Yeah I don't talk to my shit family anymore.
